I'm going, riding out from Northern Virginia and staying at the Hog Heaven Campground. Making this a 22-day trip, first Sturgis, then westward to Beartooth Pass and Yellowstone and Grand Teton Nat'l Parks in Wyoming, then south to Utah and Arches and Canyonlands Nat'l Parks, then east to Colorado and Rockie Mountain Nat'l Park, and finally heading home. Heading out on Monday, July 28th, happy to share the road should anyone else be treking out around that time.

Definitely need to take advantage of the scenery while we're there, would hate to miss out on anything if I can help it. Lots of riding in and around Sturgis, then onto other sights. It's sure to be a great time.

Just blew my unborn childs college fund by booking at the lantern motel on Junction ave for the whole week. And why not?? it's my first trip to Sturgis, and the wife gave me the go-ahead to go without her and have a good time.......she's a helluva lady!!!

Thats awesome. Sounds like a great gal. I too am going without the Mrs. We are having a baby in April and we both thought this would be the best year to go so she gave the go ahead as well. Im a lucky man!!!

Were going again. Went last year, it was our first trip. We also checked the Glenco campsite and they changed the way they are charging this year. Right now its $175 for camping and if you want to do the concerts, thunder road ect then you pay the extra fee. So its not like last years $300 all inclusive. I like the choice option as we didn't do any concerts or thunder road last year.

I'm going with about 5 of my friends.
Leaving Northern Ontario on Aug 1, staying for a few days in Custer.
About 1500 miles to get there - looking at about a 10 day trip.
Camping as much as practical.

Heading back this year. Missed last year. Leaving from SLC heading to Buffalo, WY the first night. Then over to Devils Tower and down to Spearfish and staying there. Plan on hitting the Badlands this year. I saw Farns is staying in Custer. I stayed there my first year at Sturgis. Great town. Be careful though, if you head back to your motel after dark heading up that way at night can get dangerous. Always a lot of wildlife on the road.

I'M going with my buddy and our wife's for the first time we're really looking forward to it. We live in south Florida and all though we get to ride year round and go to Daytona all the we cant wait to ride through the Badlands, we plan on going out to Devils tower, and what ever else we can think off doing while we're there.We are staying at a Bestwestern in Deadwood, I believe its right of I-90

Going with a group from Dayton, Ohio. Leaving on Aug 1st. My first time, some others have been before. Looking forward to it. My first long ride on the WG. Staying in Spearfish, got a house! Stopping in Des Moines, Iowa first night, then on to S.D.

I'm riding from Ohio. 1st time. 3-5 of us going from Columbus to Kansas City to Denver for a few nights to Sturgis for 4 nights to somewhere b/t Ohio and Sturgis for 1 night. Will be staying in a cabin near Sturgis somewhere. I need to get that info from my buddy still. It's gonna be a long trip full of experiences. Can't wait.

This will be my second trip from West Tennessee, spent 9 days there last year. Put over 3k miles and still didnt get in all the rides and scenery we wanted to. So, nothing left to do but go back....
Did the Beartooth, some great riding between Buffalo Wy and Cody.
Me and my 3 buds have a house rented in Black Hawk, just outside Rapid City...the house backs up to I-90 so easy on easy off, just few miles from Sturgis.
For you first timers, want to party, hear some good jam without having to fight the crowds of the Chip and Glencoe, try the Boneyard just off I-90 a few miles from Sturgis. There you can ride in, sit on your bike, have a beer and listen to some good bands....last year's best was Marshall Tucker.
Sturgis, is an experience to say the least....but a lot of fun!!!

First time trip to Sturgis on a Harley. Will be using my $600 Government "stir the economy check" to spur economic growth in Sturgis and surrounding area. Most likely I will need to spend it on gas to get their and back. Leaving from NW Louisiana traveling through some great scenic areas as I head North and West to So. Dakota. Staying at the Katmandu Campground SW of Sturgis. They offer free bus rides to Sturgis in the evenings.

Me and my dad are going. This will be my 9th time up and my dad's 25th time. We will be riding up from Denver and taking the long way. And we still don't know where we're staying.

We are coming up from Kansas City with a group of 5 or 6 couples/friends. Most of the group will be staying at the Best Western in Hill City. My Wife and I will be staying in our RV at Rafter J Bar Ranch RV park. Can't justify paying for a motel when we have a motorhome. Plus my Wife can't bear to not take her cocker spaniels with her whenever we go out of town. I can't complain too much since she let me buy a 2008 SG Friday. I picked it up Saturday, 3/1/08. We plan to ride over to Sturgis during the daytime and then go back to Hill City to get sleep at night. It will be everyone's first time to the Sturgis, SD rally except one couple who went last year.

First year going out to sturgis leaving from michigan end of july sometime not sure how long of a trip were going to make it yet possibly 2 weeks taking the long way there and back.
