Finally got around to taking some pictures and posting them up. Hope you like. Just some quick notes on things that were added/changed: Upper and lower rockers; bike covers kit; Boss Bags; black wrinkle horn cover; bridge head covers; flush fuel gauges; black hand levers; new HD diamond grips; Heat Demons control for heated grips; chrome lower belt guard and chrome sprocket cover (bag removed for visual); axle covers; and other stuff you'll probably notice on your own.

Looking good, DB!!  Heated metal grips? Man , those should really get warm.

I don't like it. Too many ideas I was planning on using myself. Keep that thang out of Wisconsin, OK?
What did the rocker boxes set ya back? I got a friend who I think will help me install them, so that doesn't matter, just the parts prices. Can you show a pic of the head bridge covers, not sure what I'm looking for, is that more chrome or more black??
The timing and derby covers are still the stock ones, right??
Also I wasn't planning on heated grips, but what's the deal with the "Demon" controls or what ever, is that some upgrade to the stock switch? I assume that's the lighted up thingie in the pic of the controls.

Heated grips, were they easy to do on the internally wired bars? Looking good.

Too funny.  Thanks for the compliments.

Gilly - to answer your questions:
It's in Cali so don't worry about seeing it unless at Sturgis.
Rocker boxes were about $120 per set and then you'd need some gaskets and two o-rings for a few more bux.  I installed them by myself (don't do it with a full tank of fuel) without any problems.
The bridge head covers match the heads exactly so it blends very well.  Give me a day to get a close up picture up of them.
Timing and derby covers are not stock.  I forget the style but the originals were just a polished finish.
The lighted switch is the 4 level power source for the heated grips.  It replaces the stock front clutch clamp thereby making it look stock.

The heated grips were easy to do with the Heat Demons.  After doing it, I would almost bet for sure that I could do the HD one even though they say 'does not work on internally wired bars'.  Given the Fat Bob stock drag bars are fairly straight and after doing the other install I really think you could go that route. The HD wires are definately bigger but there is enough room to get them through.  I will probably try that at some time.

Gilly -

Here is a shot of the head bridge covers....well one of them anyway; the other one looks just like it.

Thanks triman. Love the bags. Looked around alot and ended up with these. I wanted something of obvious good quality and the ability for quick removal, lockable to the bike, lockable lids, and work with the sissy bar when my woman be ridin'. I fully recommend them. I do leave them on most of the time but stripping it down is nice every now and then. You can see what they look like in the first post in one of the pics - very clean.

Tartan,

I think the rockers are my favorite part. I am pleased at how many people catch onto it and compliment it. Yeah, definitely my favorite part.

As far as the flush fuel caps; they are the HD ones and yes, the blue fuel pump stays on all the time. The low fuel light on the speedometer comes on when one dot is left on the fuel gauge so it is very accurate for me. I also like that it has variable dimming as the day changes from light to dark so that it isn't distracting. That mod is also a good eye catcher. Neighbor thought is was kinda dumb that I got rid of the fuel gauge to let me know how much I had left until I turned the ignition on and he saw how it worked. His face said it all.

Bike is looking good!  The flush fuel caps look sweet! They just moved up on my to-do list.  How did you manage the rear axle nut covers?  They look like the classic chrome from HD, but I know from experience those don't fit.  How difficult is it to switch the hand grips?  How do those black diamond grips feel?

Yes those are the classic chrome covers but they are available and have been since around January for our Fat Bobs. Here is the link:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442292211&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302288063&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302288063&bmUID=1210917677866&bmLocale=en_US

Another new thing on the bike is this speedo/tach. I just don't have pics on the bike yet since I put it on yesterday.

Unfortunately no.  That was one of the things I wish it still had.  I'm over it though.

Very nice DB, looking real good! I'm planning a lot of the same mods you have. You're a bit further along though, so it's good to see what they'll look like.

Sorry, forgot to answer about the grips question.  Very easy to put on/change....pretty much nothing else to say about that.  They feel good on the hands with or without gloves and when I turn on the heater (if needed) for the grips they are oh so nice.

I have the classic chrome axle covers for the rear... but they are sitting on my kitchen table.  The Left side won't fit... '08 nut is bigger .  Others have have posted about this, that's what struck me as odd since they were on your bike.

You have the older set. Check to see if your set is part #43132-08. This part number replaced the older set which works on the 08 models.

Well, I can probably do without and get a clock mounted somewhere else.

What about the idiot lights? Does it retain the Security, "6", Fuel Empty light etc?

Also, what about the dual trip?

Sorry for so many questions, but this is the perfect solution to add a tach for me.
