Don't know much about it, other than riding past it on Rt. 28 when I was last in the Smokie Mountains. I stayed at the Ironhorse Motorcycle Lodge, www.ironhorsenc.com, which I'd recommend to everyone. It has accommodations for everyone, from camping to cabin rooms to full cabins. The hospitality and meals are awesome.

Appreciate the response onthedish1. In your opinion, since you've stayed at ironhouse, do you think they'd be capable of hosting 200 bikes from a group or would that blow them out?

Guess that would depend on what reservations they have already and what housing preferences your group desires. Why not check out the Ironhorse site and give them a call or email them to see. It's a large property and has been know to accommodate very large groups. Give it a shot.

I stayed at Fontana Village lodge in July 2007. I recall price was reasonable especially compared to what was available at Deal’s Gap motorcycle resort on the Dragon. Despite the name, “Hellbender”28 is quick, easy and scenic ride from mouth of Dragon Hwy. 129. Definitely recommend Fontana if staying in Dragon vicinity.

Just got back yesterday. Stayed at the Deals Gap Resort, as usual. Ben is an exceptional host, to say the least. Stopped for coffee every morning at the Hellbender - it was an awesome 1/2 hour jaunt from the resort. As far as numbers go, the resort has 14 rooms, and I think it can sleep bout 3 or 4 to a room, but that's it.

Anyone who goes to the Gap this year, go to the Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley - it's due to close at some point in 2008. Nice way to get there, also. Take 28 to 19, and then 19 all the way to Maggie Valley. Cherokee gets a bit busy, it's a nice ride. You can come back on 74 if you're in a hurry, too.

Despite the weather, we had 4 days of good riding, and sun on the Cheraholla.

200 bikes and riders might put a cramp on any place. Besides IRONHORSE ( Where I like to stay) Kickstand Lodge is right down the road. Bryson City with much better lodging/food/wet county is just up the road on US-74. we stay at the Ridgetop when we're there

Good luck
