18,000.00 for my trade on 08 SE Ultra - 2/8/2008 4:33:07 PM    Ultra61 Posts: 909 Joined: 10/27/2007 From: Eastern PA Status: offline I went to the dealer today and for the 2nd week in a row I announced that I was interested in the WHITE 08 SE ULTRA...I announced this week that if they gave me 18,000.00 for my 07 ULTRA I may be pushed over the edge to buy...What do you pros think of that deal. RE: 18,000.00 for my trade on 08 SE Ultra - 2/12/2008 11:21:21 AM    harleysailor   Posts: 7 Joined: 9/12/2006 Status: offline It all depends on how much they are going to sell you the new bike for.  If they are asking $5,000.00 over MSRP then a trade in of $18,000.oo is not a good deal, however, If they are selling the new bike at MSRP I would think that $17,000.00 trade in would be a good deal.  I just bought an 08 Screaming Eagle Anniversary Ultra and paid MSRP plus $600.00 set up, $350.00 document fee, and $350.00 freight.  I sold my 07 Ultra for $18,700.00.  The dealer was only willing to give me a trade in of $16,000.00 so I sold it myself. RE: 18,000.00 for my trade on 08 SE Ultra - 4/17/2008 11:37:15 PM    Skippy49   Posts: 143 Joined: 11/28/2005 Status: offline   When I wanted to trade my bike and the dealer wouldn't give me enough, they offered to do the paperwork when I got it sold to run it through their business to make it look like  a trade on paper so I would reduce my sales tax.  Actually the people who bought it went to the dealer with me and had the paper work filled out just like they bought it from the dealer instead of me. Are you telling them what you'll do , or are they telling you what they'll do ?? $18000 for your bike on trade, you better take it and run. Your bike is worth it, but probably not on trade. NADA says your bike trade value is $14080, retail is $18525. My $$ would be on that they would offer you trade value.
