Well, I'm new to the forum and have been lurking for the past month.  I purchased my new Ultra Classic last month and I have her just about dialed in to my liking.  I figured I would make this my first post and introduction.  I live in Huntington Beach, CA. and the weather here has been great! I've learned alot from this forum and enjoy reading it daily.  Thank you all for your input to all the post's. It helps us newbies.

Thanks, 2MannyToyz,
The pipes have a long history.
I paint them myself, plus there were heat shields,
but I took 'em off.

Man after looking at all these Harleys and seeing how nice they look, it is just amazing.

Here is mine. I just got her on Friday the 28th of March. She is used, but she is all mine. I ordered the cruise control, the oil and air gauges, and the detachable tour pack from Harley Davidson to match the Chopper Blue color. Not much on it, but she is beaut to me.

I am all smiles now. Ride Safe

Back in Dec, drove a Towncar to Tn from NC, about 720 Miles. Step-son home on leave from Iraq. He wants a Harley, but pictures aren't cutting it, he wants to touch them, so I took him to the Harley Dealer in Murfreesboro, Tn. While he was talking with them, I was looking around.  Now, I had a perfectly good Iron Head (74 engine, 78 frame) back in NC but saw an Ultra I might be able to afford. Thing is, I wanted a Heritage but wife liked the big bagger. I called the salesman over and told him to give me the best deal he could on the bike and if I could swing the payment, I was leaving on it.  Damn, he suprised me and I left on the Ultra. Step-son drove the Lincoln.  Sold it to my other Step-son (still owes me money) and rode the Ultra back to NC.
Bought it the 15th and went home on the 18th, I think.  Rode the first two hours in the rain but only got my left foot wet, wasn't raining that hard.
I've put just under 5 thousand miles on it in just over 4 months. Sold the Iron Head, should have kept it for bar hopping.

1998, 95th Anniversary Edition Ultra Classic with a mess of Chrome and lights, with CD player and original cassette in the tour pak.  Had 33,333 miles on it when I got it.
Odd, I bought a 1999 Heritage Springer a few years ago(in 2000) that had 3,333 miles on it. Got re-poed, along with everything else, car, house, had to sell everything else I owned. (1967 Pontiac Lemans Convertible, 1967 Pontiac Lemans 4 door with less than 50k miles and early production numbers) All the rest of the cars and trucks, boat and travel trailer. Lost the wife for a while too. Got her back.
The Iron Head- who knows how many miles it had.
Bought a 1982 FXRS in 84 that had 1776 miles on it. It was an 80th anniversary, or so the badge on the front fender said. Seems like it was a year off there to me. It was built the month of my 25th Birthday, first year of the 5 speed rubber glide, last year of the Shovel. Planned on keeping it forever- Got Stolen.
Bought a 1974 Iron Head in 79 that I sold in 81, don't remember the miles on that one.
Oh yeah, had a Yamaha 650 V-Star for a little while before getting the last Iron Head.
1974 in 79, 1982 in 83, Had about a 5 year dry spell, 1999 in 00, 04 or 05?(V-Star) in 05, 1974/78 in 05, 1998 in 07.
Maybe another Anniversary Edition in 2013?

You say its your first Harley, but is it your first bike? YOU NEVER want to lean or sit on a bike like that. I have seen a number of them go over. Stand Next to it or Sit on it. Oh Yeah, one exception. A butt naked women has the ability to sit any way she wants to on the bike
