Well here is my new Glide. So far I have 600 miles on the clock and I try to get out whenever the weather permits up here.
I have put 18" cusome chrome wheels, se slipons, street glide running gear, talfin mirrors, reverse license plate setup, stealth
rack and a bunch of little stuff. I was torn between the SG and the RG and I am very happy I made this decision. I love my glide!!

Finally learned how to up load photo, thanks to Philm. Going to get Wide Glide bars this week, I hope. I have about 850 miles on the new bike. Almost time for the first service.

Ty Buttman! We got a chance to get out today, what a beautiful day here in northern Utah! We passed the 1000 mile mark yesterday, new SE II's will be here Tuesday and we're hoping for more spring weather!

Okay, being an owner of an Ultra, I know I may be subjecting myself to criticism here -- but is anyone who owns a Road Glide bugged by the fact that the fairing stripe doesn't match with the stripe on the tank? It is as if two different engineers designed this, and missed the match up on the paint scheme.

However, this does not apply to the SE version -- Terry's bike, for example, shows that the eagle matches up as the detail goes down the side of the bike... And very nicely, I might say.

It just seems that this is an oversight which could really improve the fluid look of the bike from the side... Again, just my opinion.

Thoughts on this???

Yes, I agree and it does bug me. I don't know what the hell they were thinking!
I inquired about a solid or two-tone paint scheme when I was ordering mine, nogo. So, it's either buy an older used one with a different paint scheme (not many for sale in my area) or wait till the next model year and take ur chances...

Damn,

I knew some batwing guy would finally bring this up. That's the first thing I noticed on that paint scheme. I don't get it either.

I don't like the stripe...that stripe is the main reason I didn't buy a new one...

You know, its like the fairing department and the tank department didn't communicate.... Is that something that someone just said "Oh well, since it has 'HD' on it, they'll still buy it"?

On the other hand, such detail was taken to the paint scheme on your bike, Terry, that they should have learned a lesson on its popularity. Heck, that is what I was looking for when I finally bought my Ultra. If there had been one like yours available, it would be in my garage right now. In fact, I've got "authority" from my wife that if one comes along, we could be a two bike family immediately -- and she just rides along as a passenger!

For my part, that fairing would be re-striped at the local body shop.....

And yes I hat that damn stripe mismatch as well but I'll just have to live with it for now.

I have to admit I've never been a big fan of yellow, with some exceptions in automobile history.
But H-D did a pretty nice job with this color and I think it looks especially good on the RG.
The (mismatched) stripe matches well and I really like the way the black inner fairing looks against the yellow. Hell, even the black seat and tires for that matter.
Do you plan on changing the exhaust or you gonna stick with the stock headers?

Well I'm not really sure yet. I may go with the Rinehart true duels in the future. I think the next thing I would like to do is put on chrome fork lowers and floating disk.

I can't wait! Just got off the phone with my local Dealer and my bike is on the way. With assembly and the adding on of a few goodies I should have it by early next week. Life is good, I will post pics of my new Road Glide as soon as I can.
