I started a thread on this a few days back, but it occurred to me I should have just posted it here.
After all, our shields are "special."

$55 shipped. Love the way it looks, especially with the black pearl paint. This is the first time I've had the original (15") windshield off the glide. This one ships flat, whereas the original is curved, so I'm a little concerned about the outward stress/pressure. But it seems to be of very good quality and fits perfectly. Have no idea what to expect as far as wind is concerned, I would imagine it will be like not having a windshield at all? Am driving it to work tomorrow and will report back tomorrow night.

V&H Big Shot Duals on order.

Here is a link for the windshield...

I drove it to work today (11 miles of surface streets, top speed 50mph) and really dug it. I'm (obviously) getting more wind but I like looking over it (and you can see thru it). This is my first bike with fairing/windshield, so I'm used to wind. I've yet to drive it on the highway and I'm really curious to see what it's gonna be like at night. I keep going outside and looking at it...It gives the bike a much sleeker look and again, really ties in well with the black pearl paint. Makes me want to (almost) start blacking out more stuff. If the bike were black, I would definetly do that. And after seeing Toppers' black Street Glide with the black Bassani Road Rage pipe, I'm really diggin' the blacked out look. I almost considered cancelling my order for the V&H Big Shot Duals after seeing Toppers bike. But in the end I know that my bike won't look as good as his with that pipe, and all that extra power will just get me in trouble!

Got rid of my 02 Fatboy and picked up this 02 RG and turned a profit.
It has the 95 inch big bore. I love riding down the road with
the radio blasting. The ride is the smoothest i have ever felt.

I have the HD 9.5" windshield. It puts the wind just over my head (I'm 6').

Got my Clearview today and got it mounted. The protective plastic is still on the WS until I am sure about the size. Cleaned her up and brought her out for a few photos...

First ride is tomorrow, or Thursday if the 20% showers hit.

Ride safe.

Nice shield doug.Is that 12",16",or 18"?Me and my buddy were side by side cruiz'n to laughlin at 80mph and a bug went up his nose!I had to slow down i was laughing so hard, shit almost made him wreck because of your natural instinct to get it out(thus taking your eyes off the road!!!!)He's looking to getting a taller one than stock on his glide.

Just curious...

No, I really didn't.

I had a FatCat on my old RG and absolutely loved it. Performance, look, fit, sounds, quality, ..... it's all there. When I started putting this one together, the black ThunderHeader was the only one out there. Now there are several. When I discovered that I could get the D&D in black, it was only a matter of time....

The new pipe on the bike is a FATCAT. And I do love it, it has the right sound and it dynoed very well!!! The old pipe was a White Brothers E-Series. Which I still have.........if anyone might be interested.......a great deal could be had.......but we would need to talk about it......

Here is a pic of the bike after the rebuild project.

Nice bike! I am looking to change out my bars. Could you ask your brother some details about the bars he has? Brand? Size? Wiring issues etc. Any info would be helpful. I am looking for something different but don't want to experiment. Here is another option I am looking at.
