The Tribe gave him an offer, $17 Million a year (For 4 years only), with incentives that could bring it close to $19 Mil per.

He's gonna want Santana $$. $138 Mil over 6 years. The Tribe won't give that up. It's rare they do deals over 4 years.

I think the Tribe is going to see how far along they are during the season, and if they have a legit shot at a WS or not. In the A.L with The Yankees, The Sox, The Tigers, that means The Tribe will have a tough season.

If The Tribe is out of the race, I say they should trade C.C. to an N.L. squad, and get something while they can.

If they are in the race, stick it out and hope you win The Series.

THAT, IMHO would be enough for C.C. to stick with The Tribe. Well, that and $21 Mil & 5 or 6 years.

I'd have to say that the Tribe are being stupid....you see what it cost the Twins with losing Santana.....and because of that....they're officially going to be contending for last place.

Sabathia was the only reason that the Tribe has been as competitive as it has been the last few years, and where were they last year? In the AL Championship game, where their offense couldnt get a hit to save their life. Sabathia pitched well, but in the end, the offense cost them.

Yes, you still have the Tigers, Red Sox, Yankees, Angels to worry about, but Cleveland is still a top tier team.

I would keep him if the Tribe is in it in July, but if they are out of it and havent gotten a deal done by the trading deadline, it will be time to send him on his way. Ive been going down to the Jake for years watching this kid grow into one of the best pitchers in the game. But...if the Indians were to give him a Santana type deal and he blew his arm out a year in, we are f*cked! The Indians are a mid-market team, and w/o the big bucks like the Red Sox and Skankees have, we are going to have to rely on home-grown talent. And that shouldnt be a problem since we have one of the best minor league systems in the game.
