Default 08 screaming eagle Ultra

A Friend of mine just totaled his Screamming Eagle Ultra, so he is considering an 08. He had a 07 Ultra Classic that he had converted to a 110 but as your might all susspect, had nothing but problems with it. He is really gun shy now about going to the 08 because he doesn't want to get back into all the same tranny and heating issues with band aids on them just delaying the problems for a later date. He puts alot of miles on his bikes and wants to feel confident. any advice?? Has Harley solved the issues it had with the 07 or just masked them??? What do you think?

Default RE: 08 screaming eagle Ultra

08 issues still are still the same as on the 07's... Heat that is. The changes in the throttle control, isolated drive system (IDS) have smoothed out the 5th gear noise (to a point).. In my opnion the 08 is same as an 07 with just a few changes. Some of which are creature comfort things with the farring vents. Engine and transmissions are nearly the same as 07's

Have read lots of attempts to fix the heat and trans issues with the 07/08's anywhere from intake/exhaust changes, oil coolers and synthetic oils and the under the seat heat deflector.... and then having the bike re-flashed.
