Default Just done my first 300 miles on my FXSTSSE 2 2008

Just came back home from the dealer and made a bit more than 300 miles on my Screamin'Eagle Softail Springer 2008. The bike a 105 Anniversary copper-black-gold is gorgeous but needs a lot of help from you.
This European version needs pipes and the suction system the bike in the catalogue comes with. As It is it is much slower than my 2007 Dyna and that is disgusting. I need a set of pipes that allow the big engine to breathe, without being too loud. Don't like the 2 into 1 type; is there by any chance an SE set of pipes for the FXSTSSE2 2008 bike? one of the things I'm most annoyed about is that looking in the H-D website, you don't have specific items for the Screaming Eagle model and it is most frustrating. I want to install a ThunderMax with Autotune, but not even Zippers mentions it as an option.

So getting into bussiness, 1.-anyone know where to find in the H-D page with spares for my bike? 2.-Pipes that fit my bike (big radius I like for looks, but far too loud and hate 2 into 1). 3.- Anyone with TMAX with Autotune? If so what other elements are you using? Brakes are almost non existent; what can you do to improve the most important front one without breaking the Springer suspension?

What is the complete part nÂș for the suction shown on most of the 2008 models with a chromed elbow and an uncovered filter with the 110 SE badge?

Maybe too many questions, but I did spend a hell of a lot of money to get something that needs tons of extra accessories to make it go.

Thank you all and keep me informed.

I'm a little confused. I think you are asking about factory high performance pipes. That ain't happening, seems they are out of the pipe business due to the obvious legal problems.

You mention you don't like 2 into 1,but Big Radius are available 2 into 2,and are not too loud.

I would also recommend the factory Scremanin Eagle Race Tuner(SERT)

A good set of aftermarket pipes with a SERT and dyno tune will give you plenty of power and a good running engine.

What am I missing?

As far as the brakes, hey,I know where you're coming from,I've been on sport biles all my life. The brakes are laughable, but hold on. The front brake, along with a back brake that is above average will get the bike stopped plenty fast anough relative to the performance of the bike.In other words, you aren't going to do stoppies with the bike, but it gets the bike stoped just fine.

Yes get the air filter,it looks cool, and performs well also.

So what's up with your bike not coming with the SE Springer air filter? Does it not meet your countries goverment standards, and why? The pipes I don't under stand either, they can't be any quieter than the ones that come on the US model.

On a positive note, tell me that paint doesn't look killer in the sun.I've never owned ,or wanted a Harley in 35 years of riding till I saw this paint work.I wasn't even looking for a bike and bought it on the spot.

The front brake works better after some more miles of break in. I felt the same way on my 07, especially after coming off my RK. I have been looking for an upgrade from PM.

Flyer, Nice pic and nice bike!!!
I installed the Rush 1.75 slipons and They are perfect. You can see how they look by looking at Deuce's Bike. The look the same on the FXSTSSE2.I'll get some pics posted of mine for you.
They look like the Stock harley that comes with the bike but are a little shorter which shows off the rear wheel more. Also have the newSERT on order to plugin a different map for more performance and richer for running cooler. There are better break pads out their Lyndall is a good product. www.lyndallracingbrakes.com/home.htm

A couple things i noticed on your bike as compared to mine isUSA modelcame with smoked turn signal lenses, and the Mirrors you have look exactly like the stock set on my 06 lowrider, looking at the parts manual it does show they are different on Intl. models. I'll look further at your pics to see what else is different.
I'll see what I can come up with on the heavy breather air cleaner part number.

I'm running the Thundermax and it's great. The small piece in the tail pipe does a great job to quiet the big radius 2 into 1down.
Modified Seat, Air Intake and Exhaust.

I'm sure you figured out by now that the heavy breather intake is in the HD Catalog. I'm sure you could find plenty of others in the aftermarket for a better price also.
About the VH pipes being too loud...
They (V/H) sell "Quiet" baffles for almost every pipe including the big radius. It might not even cost extra if you arder them from the factory with them installed. It would almost definitely be cheaper to buy them somewhere else with the standard baffle and add the quiet ones with your purchase. Paying the MSRP sucks.
Make sure you order from american companies to avoid so many choice and performance restrictions.
