With all the plastic on the front of cars these days it would be great for discouraging tailgaters.

And its not just for the 50's anymore, there are a bunch of kits out for use on todays cars and a lot of people doing it. But heaven help you if you do it around a cop.

Yes and weld the threaded bung in, for the spark plug.

Had a homemade one on a '51 Chev with a 400 block. Plenty of unburnt fuel to ignite! Used to deal to tailgaters in a *nice* way.

My '99 Triumph Daytona also used to do this when I put the wrong ECU map in
