Default Retitle or not?

How many bikers who trike their bikes have them retitled? What are the down side of not retitling. What are the up side of retitling. Does your state make you retitle your bike if you trike it?

Just a few things that I am curious about.

Thanks for all who repely.

First off a trike is still considered a motorcycle and the conversion that you installed on your bike is considered an accessory by your insurance company. So to re-title would only be useless.

I was thinking along the same lines as eglidetrike1. The VIN # doesn't change, why re-title the bike. It is a accessorized motorcycle. Just inform the insurance co of the vehicle's triked value and I would guess that should do it.

I see your using a championsidecar conversion do yourself a favor and replace the rear shocks with a set of progressive 440's ride is so much better, and also champion had a problem with the rear door leaking check it out before you put some clothes in there. If there is anything else you need to know about the conversion let me know.
