Status: offline Haven't been here in awhile so this may be bringing up something that was already discussed.

I just saw an ad about a new oil pan from baker called the Plus-One Pan (P1P). Apparently it adds a quart of oil and reroutes the oil flow so that the oil coming from the engine has to flow all the way through the pan before it gets pumped back into use. The pan has extra cooling fins on it. I have read about drops of 10 to 30 degrees in oil temps. Yes, I realize that more oil increases warm-up time a bit. My concern is high oil temp during the summer.

I live in Tulsa and the summer heat can cause my '07 Road King Classic to get pretty warm, particularly sitting in traffic. I plan on adding SERT or another fuel control system - that should drop the temperature some. However, I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about this new pan from Baker, to find out if it helps enough to invest in it. The stuff I had read made it sound like the stock pan has its in and outflow points near each other, which would reduce the time that the oil coming directly from the engine had to mix with "cooler" oil already in the pan.

One more thing. I use H-D synthetic in the bike. Get it serviced regularly. Would it help going to Amsoil or to Purple?

I love riding ((18,000 miles in my first year), but am still learning about the mechanical side of things. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Status: offline I have seen the same add, and was also intersted in the forums opinion on htis product. Seems like a good solution to riding on hot days, or in heavy traffic.

Status: offline I bought one of the first prototypes from Baker. It is billet aluminum. I got it for the custom bagger I was building. I ordered it when I ordered their DD 6 speed. I told them it was for a 124" S&S Twincam. They didn't "know" it would not fit an S&S motor.

So I installed in the Road King. I don't have a temp guage on the King so can't tell you how much it helps. But.... makes since to me. A buddy is having one put in his FLHX with a 120 Zippers motor expecting to lower temps also.
