We know there are Harley owners who don’t want a backrest on their bike but have women who won’t get on without one. With that in mind our designers went to the drawing board to bring us a backrest that installs and removes in minutes. All this and it still leaves your bike looking clean and smooth like your ride should be. Let’s face it, it looks way better than those bulky backrests that use side plates and clutter your bike. Cut from Heavy Duty 8 gage American steel and hit with a mirror chrome finish this thing is no sissy bar. Customize your look even more and choose from two pad styles, 4”x6” or 6”x6”.

Thanks for the interest everyone. Unfortunatly at this time we have no brackets for solo seats and or the fat boys. Have a little work to do for it to fit the fatboy and a lot of work for a solo bracket.

08_FLHX Glad to hear you might actually consider it. We had your exact thought when we designed this.

I hope you guys get around to making a Backrest for Tourers with Sundowner Solo seats. They have no slot for any other backrests to come up through. It looks like your design is could work with some modifications. I'll keep coming back to your site and checking.

what prevents it from scratching up the fender?

Haulen Ass
03-04-2008, 08:33 AM
http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc265/Haulenass/rubberpad.jpg

You lay this rubber pad down under the backrest and this prevents any damage to the paint. The rubber is pretty thick and goes slightly past the edges of the bracket so your fender is protected during installation and during use.

Just make sure you dont turn around real quick not paying attention and blast your fender with the bracket [sm=headbang.gif]

How much $$$$$$$$$?

Haulen Ass
03-04-2008, 08:46 AM
For the Smaller Pad they are $199.95
For the Larger Pad they are $209.95
For just the Backrest Bracket $149.95

We use Genuine Harley Pads that you can purchase from any HD
Dealer and we charge the same price as the dealer for them.

Hay Haulin AXX, You need to work up a solo back rest for guys like me and then a back rest set up that if a guy wants to go back to cool, have the up right part slide off and it can go in the saddle bag so when he wants to put the honey on the back its there in the bag. That will give you something to do on a rainny day.

I put one on my Sporty. I love it! It still retains the lean sporty look.

That is one fine looking sporty you have there. Now you just need a Haulen Ass laydown license plate mount to finish that lean look ;). Mind if we post that pic of your bike up on our website?

Hope you enjoy the backrest and thanks again for your business.

Looks great, sleak slim line profile sissybar! I don' t really need for my SG, but on the other hand, one of those on mywifes nightrod would be badass!!! Keep us informed aboutthe progression from model to model.

Thanks,

I need to find out if it will fit my 2008 Fat BOB..

Haulen Ass
03-05-2008, 09:46 AM
The Haulen Ass backrest will fit the Fat Bob. If you go to www.haulenass.com (http://www.haulenass.com) it is part number HA-FXD-CBR1. Then from there you just choose what size pad you want with it.

It blends in real nice on the darker color bikes [sm=smiley16.gif]

Let me know if you have anymore questions

I've got 07 Street Bob and put the Harley Sundowner 2 up seat on for the wife. I measrued it and it looks like 4". Your web page says it allows up to 3.5" passenger seat. Am I measuring wrong or will this work with the Sundowner seat.

Jim

Haulen Ass
03-13-2008, 09:16 AM
The backrest will work with the Sundowner 2up but there will be no gap between the seat and the backrest pad. The biggest gap we offer from backrest pad to the fender is 3.5" so if the seat is 4" the two will touch but still work prefectly.

Does that mean your working on a Dyna solo seat, or are you calling us Fat Boys

Haulen Ass

Um:eek:, no solo seat yet. Need more requests for it from others so we can justify paying for the tooling to make it, kinda costly[:'(]

sorry

I have an 07 Night Train (FXSTB) with a Mustang vintage sport solo seat and the vintage sportwide passenger pillion. Willyour back rest fit with that particular passenger pillion? Also, when I remove the passenger pillion for solo riding how much additional work will there be to remove the backrest? I currently have an HD quick detach backrest but I dont like the bulky look of the quick detach cams and it would be too easy to steal, love the clean look of yours. thanks

Haulen Ass
05-13-2008, 07:52 AM
Our backrest should work with the passenger pillion. I looked at the seat on line but couldn't tell how tall it was. Our smaller pad 4"x6" is designed to work with passenger seats up to 2.5" tall and our larger pad 6"x6" works with seats up to 3.5" tall. One of those two will accommodate your seat. Its real easy to remove the backrest, you'll remove the rear bolt for the passenger seat and the backrest and then you just have to remove a bolt at the front of the backrest bracket where the solo seat mounts on.

i have a 08 883 and i am in the market for a 2-up seat. will this backrest work with ANY seat i may choose that will fit my bike or will it only work with certain seats?

Haulen Ass
05-23-2008, 07:54 AM
We have two different pads that work with several seats. Our smaller pad (51534) works with seats that are up to 2.5" tall and our larger pad (52549) works with seats that are up to 3.5" tall. If you have a seat that isn't any taller than 3.5" then we have a backrest that will work for you.

black mounting hardware in the near future?

Haulen Ass

Prolly not unless we start to offer them in black... which we hardly get any requests for. I guess since Im on the topic who out there prefers the black vs the chrome?

Just doing a little research

About Mid October we will be releasing a new low profile backrest for All Touring bikes. It will have the same style and easy install as our current backrests.

That is one thing I plan on figuring out over the winter, black powder coat, wrinkle, black chrome.

Lots of options out there.
