Default 97 Ultra advice:

Checked out a 97 Ultra today with 15K, injected, a few extras on it. Back tire has about 5k on it, seat will have to be replaced or recovered due to cracks on both sides where your thighs would be. The guy is asking 12k. Would 10-10.5 be reasonable? Are there any issues I should be aware of with that year. Thanks for the input ahead of time.

9500 in mybook would be good..............got to remember....Hd has pumped out so many bikes with that motor it will take 30 yrs for it to really be worth any thing..............if it runs good and you like it.....then go for it. Why wait for someone else to tell you it's OK. do your thing........I'm sure your a big boy. Do what makes you happy........

1 owner? Any other issues? I am not aware of any outstanding MoCo issues with the 97's.

If it needed nothing I'dsay the bike is worth $10,000. So I wouldn't go much over $9,500. Afterpurchasing it seems you always spend extra bucks on used bikes and cars ... then you have to explain it to the wife. For what he is asking you could likely find something newer, however, thisdoes look like a pretty clean bike. Good Luck !!

A FEW THINGS.. CHECK THE Y PIPE (EXHAUST ) FOR CRACKS.

CHECK THE TOUR PACK SUPPORT RACK... FOR CRACKS IN THE 4 SPOTS WHERE THE BOLTS MEET THE FILLER NUTS.

IF U CAN.. CHECK FOR BROKEN INNER FAIRING SUPPORT (BUT THE FRONT FAIRING NEEDS TO BE REMOVED).

CHECK THE NEG. CABLE FOR LOSENESS AT THE GROUND END AS WELL AS THE BATTERY END

In my honest opinion to much money. The bike market is down. I just bought a '01 ultra with 25000 miles on it. The high book was $12,750. and the low was $9200. I paid $10,000. So I would shop around . Jmhho.
