I have a custom that is a few years old with a screaming eagle engine. I just bought it, and want to do some routine maintenance as a precaution: new battery, new plugs and new oil.
I don't know much about screaming eagles, or even if they come in different sizes. My engine would be about 4 or 5 years old.
Given that information, could someone please recommend the best replacement for the following:
- replacement spark plugs (I never trust what is already in a used bike)
- replacement battery (if there is one that is better than the rest)
- quantity of oil required for an oil change, and recommended brand and weight.
If it is a high compression engine you need colder plugs,If it normal com. youcan youse a hotter plug. Any good name brand plug will work fine.ultma is a good battery, there are alot of oil topics on this form, I would say any good sny. oil will work fire e.g. mobil 1, ams oil and so on.

- If you never trust what plugsare already in a used bike, why would you trustthissite ?
- Find a battery that fits your bike, they're all good.
- Find out is your engine is 4 years oldOR 5 years old. Get a manual for that year.
Why - Oil quanities vary from 3.5 to 4 qts in the engine, .75 to 1.0 qts in the tranny and primary, depending on the model and year !
Just an observation, I get around and stop at different dealers, it seems in every Harley shop they are promoting Rush mufflers. Does Harley have something to do with this?
