Default wanting info on the new V-ROD bikes

I am 50 years old and been riding for a long time now. I think the V-ROD is cool. Does anybody out there have a V-ROD that they have been riding for a while? I would like to know how you like it, how it runs, how it works, does it come with a 5 or 6 speed and can you change it? I have had sporsters, pan heads, shovel heads, evo, and the pan was the fastest and coolest. So could someone tell me more about the V-ROD? Thanks, Mo

Have had one for 2 1/2 years. Also ride a big twin, but this thing is awesome. No reliability issues. Twist the throttle and hold on tight. While this bike can fly, I find myself enjoying it most on mellow cruising rides, despite its power lurking underneath. Turns heads wherever you go. Exotic 60 degree V exhaust note. Can be deep and mellow or loud and authoritative.

Downsides... stock seat can lock you into a position. Many replace it (though I'm fine with it). Some go far on it, but it really isn't much of a distance bike. Windshields have marginal to negligible effect. No six speed option at this time, though many big bore and power options exist. Aftermarket has caught up and there is much to choose or customize from. Fuel range is an issue with some, if not many, though I'm OK with its ~ 120 mile range.

Despite the preceding, it is a killer power cruiser, with extraordinary performance built-in, and room to grow it as well.

Welcome, my wife will let me take her VRod out for a run once in awhile, the bike is awesome. Its got the looks as well as the power.
115hp, 5 speed tranny, low center of gravity, forward pegs. If you want to talk to a larger segment of the VRod market go to VRodforums.com. This site is built for VRodders, my wife frequents the site and has made may friends locally as well as across the country. I wish they would built a touring bike with the revolution engine, I'd be the first in line to buy.

Default RE: wanting info on the new V-ROD bikes

I've actually owned two: an 03 VRSCA and now an 05 Screaming Eagle V-Rod. The VRSCA I owned was decked out with the sport windscreen, large saddlebags, chrome everything, and was a FANTASTIC tour bike for someone who doesn't like the 750+ pounds the big tour bikes weigh, provided you don't tour with a passenger much. It DOES require you to keep a bit of an eye on the gas gauge, since that three-and-a-half gallon tank doesn't go far. But it rides so smooth, so comfortable. The engine accelerates so smoothly (though a tad bit low on the low end torqe; launching the bike properly takes a bit of learning time.) It's a real easy bike to ride; everything feels natural on it. Oh yeah...and it TURNS HEADS! Didn't matter where I went, it got looks! Quite the added bonus for all the perks of ride quality and horsepower. Alas, I had to sell her last year.

But a couple of months ago we bought a Screaming Eagle V-Rod. I had almost forgotten how good of a bike the V-Rod was till we bought and rode this one. Bit more torque, bit more horsepower, and the handlebars look fantastic with the hidden wires (quite the comfortable riding position as well), but other than that...same ol' nice V-Rod. I can't recommend the bike enough.

And since I guess the first Revolution engine powered Touring Bike has been spoken for, can I claim the second?
