Forward controls/footpegs-stirrups?Pros-Cons?
 

Searching through this site, seems like the majority of people who like forward controlsprefer the Kuryakyn, so I have just about made up my mind on them unless there is a last minute horror story.

My question now leads me to a type of pegsI will get, whichI think a heel rest is a good option.

I like to looks of the Kuryakyn ISO Pegs with Stirrups. Open to other suggestions or options. (I checked out the switchbaldes, seemed kind of small for my heel, but open to any reasoning why that would be good)

Also, seeking pros and cons of the size of footpeg, the ISO has small and large. Any other bike I had I'd put large under rider, and small under passenger. Never had forwards, so wondering if there is a difference.

I find center control give more control, while forward controls are more relaxing. I have therefore center controls with highway pegs. I get the best of both worlds. I use the controls in town, and the highway pegs on the highway.:)

I had exactly the pegs you have pictured on my forwards to begin with, in the large size. I bought the smaller ISO pegs for the passenger rear pegs, with no heel rests of course. I found myself, due to my height, never using the heel rests and instead locking the front of my boot heels against the pegs themselves. So, I finally ditched the heel rest pegs and went with a nice thick/wide footpeg instead (the Kury Widow Pegs picture below). If you think your foot position will take advantage of the heel rests, then they are a good option. It's like having a floorboard without the floorboard if you know what I mean. Just don't ever act on the urge to stand on or put too much pressure on the forward control footpegs. There is basically only one bolt between you and a certain nasty crash compared to how the mid controls pegs mount to the frame. I actually had one of the peg mount bolts break when I was trying to tighten it once and my life flashed before my eyes because if that had happened when I was going down the road and pushing real hard on one footpeg for some reason....

Kury now makes stirrups to fit hd pegs. I had chrome and rubber hd pegs and did not want to get rid of them so I just got the Kury stirrups seem to work fine but not much time on them yet

That's the way i had the bike, with highway pegs, even brought them closer (slight modification) so my short legs could reach and be comfortable.

I seem to be in between, using the mid pegs, my legs get alot of cramps, soI decided to try something different. I got a "close" seat and wow, it brings those Hwy pegs into great range, and mids are kinda out of the game now.

Thanks for the warning, actually never thought of that, I'm sure my fat a$$ could break a bolt.

I like your pegs, but I was thinking of the ones posted for an extra position besides heel rest, is that thinking out of line?

Eastern Performance is a day away, free shipping. Maybe I'll just get forwards first. I'm asking the ol' lady for a b-day gift, maybe she will notice some changes if she pays for them. <----- that's my new plan:D

I got the MoCo forwards and the Kury switchblades. Got a few thousand miles on themn. I like 'em. They have been known to scrape once in a while, but they have a replacement part that is what scrapes. It looks kind of like a little ball.

I have the opposite problem, an 883c and I don't care for the forward controls I like the stock location much better, so I'am looking for a fix.maybe stirups
