I finally got me a pair of Harley boots.  For the longest time, I had been unsuccessful in finding a boot that I could put onover the foot of my prothesis.  Well, I was in the Harley shop and happened to see an 'Engineer" type boot with a zipper on the inside.

I went right over to it.  All the folks at my home dealer are the greatest.  The clothing manager, Deborah, must have read my mind.  She asked what size I wore.  I didn't really know.  We finally decided I needed a 12 and a half.  They had to order me a pair.

The boots arrived and it worked.  I could slip it on over my prosthetic foot.  But then, that big boot didn't fit on my floor board between the stock toe and heel shifter - there wasn't enough room.  SO, I bought me an extended heel shifter, put it on this weekend and now, all is well.

Now I ain't gotta were my tennis shoes any more.

Boots are great, now I feel a little more like a biker.

btefft,

Tennis shoes? Glad to hear you were able to purchase better protection for yourself. Every time I see one of those speeding crotch jockeys with no shirt, shorts and maybe sandals it boggles my mind.

btefft and bad ,  I was able to squeeze into my old boot this morning.  2 1/2 months ago the nurse at the hospital new I was upset about her cutting my boot off.  She did a wonderful job and cut right down the seem.  If the foot swelling goes down some, I may get it sewed back up.  Now like Bobby says, it seems good to have a boot back on.

Unfortunately tennis shoes worked great with the fake foot.  I sure was glad to find those boots.

Zactly right about the crotch rockets, if they only knew of the anguish they're gonna experience if they go down.  But I reckon those youngsters feel that they are "bullet-proof"

Congratulations on getting boots. Now you're a 'real biker'!!! My neighbor takes off on his crotch rocket...flip flops, tank top and shorts. But, he's got a helmet on. I shake my head everytime I see him. One of these days....
