I'll see if I can get pix of my 85 on the post, No ,He told me his name but that was back in 89.A bike popped up on a For sale craigslist that was a 85 FXRP-SP, not the same trank, I called the guy to get the history of the bike and I got his little kid and he never returned the call. I sold my 85 in 90 in Allentown Pa The guy said he was from NYC, I have never seen the bike again except for the one on Craiglist for sale. The barge was Black and silver, only thing was there were no screw's  in the Holes as I see in your Pix. the bike did turn a lot of Heads, It was ordered for the Casper Wyoming Police dept , But the dealer close down about the same time and My bike ended up in Fort Collins Co, were I bought it, in the summer of 85.

Another story about a Cop Service car, I lived on 22nd street in the City of Chester, One day I rode my three speed pedal bike to 2 nd street to get a 25 cent hoagie, ( back in the early 50's) While I was in side enjoying this hoagie and a grape soda, Some little kid stole my bike, I told Mr stacky who own the hoagie shop, He called the police house, in moments Officer Pompeii was there on his police Service Car, He put me on the back behind him and we headed up 3th street, It wasn't long The police siren came on and he pulled the kid over that was on my bicycle. read him the roit act, He scread that kid so much he turned white. Years later I ran into that boy in high School and we both went on to be come Police Officer in different citys out side of Philly. But I got my first ride on a harley back in the early 50's.
So at the age of 65 its going to get harder to hold that  03 FXDP of mine up, so I'm up in the air about a trike or a side car. Thanks for the pix of the old 58's

One of the available Big Twin Police Grouping color options for 1958 was sliver and black and I believe that they were badged in the silver and black tank emblems as well. In keeping with the silver and black motif it certainly would look better wouldn't it.

As for the civilian 1985 model you speak of, if it had the holes but no screws it was probably otherwise adhered to the tank as, and although made to fit all the time, for the most part mismatched tanks and badge model years are not readily interchangable without some modification could not be expected to align with one another and to accommodate the dissimilar mounting hardware.

Grumpa, if you are in PA...This year the meet at Oley,PA is dedicated to 3 wheels, Servi's,
Side-cars,ect.

That was a great story! I bet that once you got on the back of that police motorcycle you forgot all about your bicycle for a minute or two. I know that I would have. Here is another police / servi-car tale. This one has two of em...the chaser and the chas-ee

The following is an entertaining servi-car tale that I stumbled across on the net some time back. The author included in the original posting a photo of his servi-car and as described, it was, indeed, truly a Rat Bike..."Olympia Beer, Breakfast of Champions," boldly emblazoned across the back panel. When I picture in my mind a servi-car chase scene, well, you get the idea.

When I was about seventeen, me'n Tommy and Ed ponied up $25 each (a lot of money for teenagers to have all at once back then) and bought a '47 H-D Servi-Car from a gas station that used it for transpo after delivering customers' cars. The thing used more oil than gas. It had a 45ci (750cc) sidevalve mill and would go about 50mph flat out, which was scary fast. At that speed, it wobbled and shook and clanked and mightily protested such a caning. It also overheated, spewed oil, and stunk. It was red. It was the cat's ass, and we were the only guys in town with such a cool beast. Or maybe we were the only bozos who'd be caught dead on it. Don't know, damn sure didn't care.

We took turns bombin' around on it all one summer. It had a tow hitch, so we would tow it to parties, the beach, etc. behind my '48 Plymouth and take girls for rides. Sometimes three or four of 'em at once. We figured out how to get the thing sideways. The bald tires helped.

We actually got chased through town one Saturday night by a local cop on his much newer Servi-Car. We didn't want to get caught because we had just scored three or four quarts of beer and didn't want to lose it. We outran him for a little while, then pulled into the gas station we had bought it from, shut 'er down, and dove under a car to hide. Yeah, like that worked! We looked out from under the car and saw the officer's polished riding boots about two feet away, one toe a-tappin'. He said this: "I'm off Sunday and Monday night. If you guys don't have passenger grab handles on that thing by Tuesday, I'm writin' ya up". And he left. Talk about yer sigh of relief! We thought we were gonna go to jail. We had taken the grab handles off because it looked cooler. We put 'em back on.

If he had written us up he would have discovered that the license plate we were using was off my my little H-D Model 125. Hey, same make and almost the same year, whass the prob?

One of the big deals was the time we parked it in the same gas station, which was right next door to the local hangout, and when we came back, the station personnel had scraped the name of the station off the back. I don't blame 'em. We had acquired a little local notoriety with the machine by then and they understandably didn't want their name associated with our shenanigans. It didn't look very good, so we put our own logo on it:

Sort of a bust, I guess, but we were young and foolish. The little white thing above 'Olympia' was the offishul sticker of the "National Association for the Advancement of Flatheads", Politically Incorrect as all get-out, but hey, it was 1963. I went in the service that fall and have no idea what ever happened to Sweet Betsy the Trike.

Sorry about the wasted space, but I copied it from a very small photo and don't know how to fix it. For you sharp-eyed ol' H-D buffs, no, the photo isn't flipped. All the **** is on the opposite side because the thing was an old police mount, from way before parking meters, and the no-meter maid needed his right hand free to mark tires. Throttle was on the left, gearshift on the right.

I hadn't really planned to tell that story, but it brought back memories, so I'm glad I did. That was the most

AMCA Meet Oley, PA 4/25 - 4/27
I am on the west coast and wont be able to attend - but I saw that you made mention of being in PA and I thought that if you were close, that you just might enjoy attending. Pretty nice shin-dig, so I’m told. I know those that attend year after year. Hope you have a good time should you decide to attend.

I think that this is the local chapter information. Might want to verify and for further info.

Rode on 2 wheels since my first sears mini bike, many moons ago..........Had to go to a trike, after meniers destroyed my vestibular system...Now, at 53, I have no balance function and 2 hearing aids......but I'm still in the wind......

Anyone contemplating a trike or a sidecar whether for health issues or just because you think they look cool......Go for it....

I don't need a sidecar at all. I also ride a '70 BSA bobber and 2007 Triumph Bonneville.
My wife has her own bike too.

We installed the sidecar on my '04 Electraglide so we could take our 2 year old daughter wherever we go. She goes where we go.
We're hardcore riders. We were tired of having to get a babysitter on weekends just so we could go for an afternoon ride.
She loves it. She falls asleep in it everytime we ride.

Im a above the knee amputee myself . Lost my left leg above the knee leg riding my 01 Superglide March 11th 2007, i was a victim of a hit n run . I just bought a 08 Roadglide and installed a Motor Trike kit and pingle shifter along with a number of goodies to make it a stronger fast trike. Im at 1800 miles to date . Had a bad shifter paw that broke on me that unfortunatley HD wont honor my new warranty, I got to say though the tike is a blast to ride.
