Someone can probably come up with something from that. Below is your pic, and below that is a copy that's darkened etc.

Which do you prefer as a starting point?

We can change the sky, etc.

thanks Jbaker.
I really havnt given it any thought, I took the pics the other day and it seems some of the
best ones looked bad. I wanted to see if it was possible for that one to work as the background
is messed up and the lighting on the subject is poor also. Thanks for answering. I will think about what would look good with it, then ask nicely for some help, Thanks...

Btw, I am interested in hearing some of the photoshops artists opinions as well...

I like both those sigs. I think Jbakers background looks better because of the lighting behind her head
is brighter and in the right place to cause the washout the photos is showing. I like it when the subject was darkened or enhanced better like in the second original pic because it shows up better. Its awesome the way yall can just pop out a set of sigs like that... Do you mind me asking how much time it took to do those? I tried to trace around the subject with my photo studio software and I kept goofing up. Is that the way yall extract the pics? By tracing around it first?

Thanks for your efforts and time.

Yep, we chop them out manually. I've never seen an automated way that works unless it's a graphic with smooth and even contrast or color differences.

As far as time, this was harder than it looks because it was so hard to see the areas around the front of the bike especially around the handlebars, headlight etc. I danged near gave up at one point. I could chop a clean shot of a complete bike quicker, spokes and all.

I suppose it took about and hour to chop it but if it were crisp and "normal," more like 15 minutes. Making the font, putting in the sunset and fitting it to the right spot, adding color balance (see your yellow chaps, jacket, hair highlightand front tire, etc?) probably took another 20 minutes, so maybe at most a couple of hours or less. Again, the pic was a challenge but it looked so cool it was worth it.

This is about as dark as I can push that pic. It gets blotchy after this. Same with the sunset.

And yes, thanks, I deliberately picked a sunset pic witha very washed out bright spot and sized and placed it there for the reason you mentioned. I even pushed it a bit by painting some white in. It's the only way I could think of to make that area of the bike and your hair look like they belonged.

Here's a bigger version without the forum name if you want it.
