Zee,

Hi, we were in Colorado Springsback in November(from the UK). Got to the top of Pikes Peak forour first time.

You are at around 6,000 feet! That steals a lot of power. Did your previous bike perform as you describe in Colorado Springs, or at a much lower altitude?

That sounds week. When I first got mine, bone stock with slip ons, I got it up to 90 mph with 2 up about 310lbs (she's skinny not me) and I still had some throttle left (ran out of road). I would pull the main jet and bump it up and see what that does. How do the plugs look? Does it sound ok when getting up to speed? Air filter clean?

Can't say for sure but the first thing I would look at is your air cleaner. The symptoms(back off and no change) would indicate it ain't getting enough air. The enrichener will make it worse as you say. A fresh air cleaner won't affect the warantee.

I would pull the bowl off the carb and see what size jets are in it. I would also suggest a factory service manual so you do not have to bring it into the dealer and save the money for yourself. Colorado is high altitude and wold be jetted different than at see level for max performance. My 92 takes quite sometime to break the 90 mph mark 2 up with very little modifications. I was told its a cruiser not a rice rocket. just my .02 Kent

Most jet kits are disastrously rich. Your engine might be drowning in gas.
