Default Looking for a custom rifle

I'm looking for a good customrifle for target shooting.
Will be shooting up to 600 yards. That's the farthest
we have at our ranges around here.Any custom rifle
builders names or companies would be greatly appreciated.

What caliber? Any special needs or wants? Too many builds to just offer one up. Any top dollar amount?

Sorry, I should have clarified. I'm looking for a
300 WM. And around 4000.00 to 5000.00 without
scope. Needs, for target shooting. Wants, a great
shooter.

Dan Dowling of Grand Junction, Colorado can't be beat in the super accurate bolt action rifle business. Just my humble opinion. .... BC

As an alternative, I'd buy a subscription to "Precision Shooting" and contact several of the gunsmiths that advertise there.

Honestly, a Savage 10FP would do the job in .308. Great damn rifle and only $800.00

If I were going to pay that much I would look at accuracy international, Robar, and a Tango 51. I would also check out some of the custom jobs at snipers paradise.com.

CC,
I shoot NRA Mid-Range (600 yards) and Long Range (1000 yards) Matches. These matches have to be shot using iron sights for 40 shots and 20 shots using scope. If your wanting to shoot scope only, F-Class matches are what you are looking for. I shoot using a Savage model 12 BVSS in a 6.5x08 caliber. (switched the factory barrel in 308 with a PacNor barrel). With the stock mods and the RPA iron sights and a Leupond scope. I have about $2500 in my rig. A rifle that will shoot a 1/2 MOA group will win matches. What seperates the men from the boys is being able to read the wind. You need to check out a great forum about long range shooting for all the info you would ever need its, "long-range.com"

Good luck and good shooting

Billy

You can also check with Remington, the factory in Illion NY has a custom shop that will build asuper accurate rifle in your caliber of choice. Not sure how much the service costs, but I would give them a call or e-mail just to see.
