I'm trying to find a clutch cable for a 1992 FXR, local Stealership has quoted the equvilent of $80, said it was an old bike and only one cable fitted it would have to order in special................ welcome to owning a Harley ! I read somewhere keeping a Harley serviced cost as much as a Porche. I'm starting to agree and see why the majority of owners never ride them.

Van_Kerr,
If you can wait a few weeks, I have a new HD clutch cable installed on my 93 FXLR. I'll be swapping it out when I change my switch housings over and redo my top end. Less than 600 miles, only catch is there might be a wear spot in the vinyl housing where it was rubbing againt the frame. The Indy that installed the cable installed it incorrectly. I wrapped the cable with some electrical tape to protect it and it might be fine, but Iwon't be sure until I take it off.

If you are interested, PM me as I'll sell it to you cheaply.

Just a quick search on Jireh Cycles' website showed a Barnett clutch cable for $35, and it's undoubtedly much higher quality than the Harley one.
And, by the way, it says they fit all Big Twin 5 speeds with stock clutches from '87 on.

What did you have to change to fit the newer seat? I have read this works but never got any details.

thanks in advance

Just bent the front tab so it would go under the tank mount and installed the rear hold down thru the fender very easy.

early Road ing (96) tank fits 89 FLT. Bolts right on no problem. I am trying to find a speedo and sending unit that will work with the 96 RK dash setup.
I will post results when accomplished. I should have a big list of stuff that will work by the time I am done.

gottahavvitt, try instead of in all caps, and I also see that your end thingie doesn't have the '/' in it. You have two '[IMG]' instead of [img][/img]. I'm not sure, that's just a thought.

Hey L234D, tell me about that exhaust. I need to do something about mine. Everything fits in place of the original? Any mods needed? Any TC exhaust work on a dresser on only some of them?

My crossover pipe shattered and I dropped an exhaust valve guide because of it. Sucked.
