Submitted by: 06deluxe_scoot

Here is how I moved myself back 2 inches on my 2006DLX.

These are the minimum. Tools you will need.

As you can see the seat cover is held in place with staples; so I first had to remove them. I used a sharp point and pliers to pull them out.

Staples are out and ready to fold back seat cover.

Here we have carefully pulled back the cover to expose the area to be re-shaped.

Next I used a marker to outline the area of seat foam to be remove and re-shape.

Here I am in the process of removing and re-shaping the foam using a Dremel tool and Makita grinder.

Here is after shaping is done, I used a piece of light plastic with all purpose contact cement to cover the area. As you will see in above picture the seat foam had a thin layer of plastic covering it and I had to remove it.

Here the cover has been stretched back over and staples replaced using staple gun.

Here is the finish seat after reshaping to move me back 2 inches. You can’t see a difference unless you had a stock seat next to this one to compare. But I got to say this was one mod that was well worth the 4 hours it took and not to mention it didn’t cost me a cent.
