Default Anyone trying to burn less than premium gas??

It makes me sick to think of what I'm going to have to pay to fill up my bike this summer. By then premium gas will probably be $4.00 a gallon (western PA). It is probably that much already in Cal. Anyway, that's $20 to fill the tank on a bike!! Most long ride Saturdays have me filling the bike twice. $40 just for gas on a Saturday sure sucks.

I wish we could burn regular, which leads me to the question, does anyone do that already? If so, what effects have you noticed?

Knowing how I baby my bike, I'm sure I'll never burn anything but premium, but I'm still curious.

If you use the middle grade it's about .10 cents cheaper per gallon. You save .50 cents per tank, but risk messing up your bike? [sm=badidea.gif]

You could get away with a tank or two in a pinch but you risk damage to various
components long term. HD engines take quite a pounding anyway, why add to it!

The price difference is not that great. Now if you had to fill a 100gal tank everytime ,then you see a big difference.
I would rather spend the extra 30 cents a gallon than have to worry or listen to pinging.

If it doesn't ping, run it.
