Default Looking to ride in Kentucky

Still crappy weather up here and a couple of us are planning to trailer down to Lexington area around April 7 for a few days. Gotta get some riding in before we go nuts!

1) What's the weather like these days.. typical temps?
2) Any suggestions for roads to cover while down there? All would have to be day trips.

Thanks in advance...

Default RE: Looking to ride in Kentucky

Weather in April is mid 50's to mid 60's with a fair chance of April showers.

Ride: 68 south west is a great ride with hills and turns, good food and a nice experience at the old Shaker Village, then on to 150 up to Bardstown (My Old KY Home), then south on 31E to 88, 84 east back to 68. Good ride.

In the January/February 07 issue of Road Runner www.roadrunner.travel they had a "Shamrock tour" out of Bardstown, KY. I have done this and all roads are nice. You may be able to order a back issue of this mag. from Road Runner www.roadrunner.travel/issuedetail-71.php.

From Lexington, head south east to the Daniel Boon National Forest. Good riding in this area.

Ride east along the Ohio rive is also a good ride

I live in southern Ohio but love to ride down in to KY.

Ride safe

Also check this out, good ride information: http://www.hdforums.com/m_3094505/tm.htm

Thanks!

Based on the forecast, we may put it off for a week or so. Don't want to trailer 10-12 hours only to ride three days in the rain. We'll see.

Something were suppose to leave tomorrow night and go to Lexington/Frankfort, but the weather looks like rain almost the entire weekend. Actually it looks that way all along that region.

Based on weather forecasts, we trialer to Summersville WV yesterday and rode in this area all day today. (Still not done today). Tomorrow will levae the truck/trailer here and ride to Roanoke for 24 hrs to avoid the rain coming here. Then back here Thu eve then back to Toronto Friday. Today's roads were fantastic. Monongahela Forest roads are amazing.
