I would like (need) to replace the shock mount bushings for my '77 but havn't yet been able to find them in any catalogs. What I do find for replacements are for years up to 71 and after 79 (if I remember correctly). What's with the 8 year skip? Did HD use an oddball shock that doesn't cross with anything else? Who made them at that time? Are they really that different? Please tell me I don't have to get new shocks just to replace the rubbers in them.

Rich

You can get them.  I replaced the ones in my '77 a year or two ago.  I have an indy buddy that ordered them for me.

Hey pyro I know this is an old question by you.  But I wondered if you ever found the bushings you needed.  If not another forum has a really nifty idea on how to make your own.  Check it out.
