Default Harley Paint

I am going to paint my custom bagger, 2008 HD red sunglow. Talked to parts department, but they couldn't tell me how much you reduce it, etc.

Anybody have familiarity with genuine HD paint and it's mixing insturctions? I need toknow so I don't order too much or too little, or buy the wrong reducer. If not, I'll just go to house of color, but I really like this HD color.

thnx

Different paints get different reduction proportions. I would contact your local paint supplier after you find out if it is a urethane paint and they should be able to tell you.

Actually, I don't think a local paint supplier will give you any info. regarding H D paint. They'll say to contact Harley. I've painted hundreds of bikes, but never used "genuine" HD paint. You would think the dealer or parts department would be able to give some mixing instructions, especially for what HD charges for the paint and base.

thankx anyway

If you ahve a sample of the color, take it to a paint distributor have them match it and they can give you all the info on much cheaper quality paint and how to use it.
