IU is supposed to make some sort of announcement today that Eric is going for the draft.  How does the majority feel?  Do you think he is ready to play pro ball??

I think he'd be an average pro player.  I don't think he's in the Tier 1 of NBA lottery players like Beasley, Rose, etc.  He should stay another year.

I think you are right kdogg.   Not sure he is ready to be even an average pro player yet.  I remember when Jay Edwards played for IU.   He was a super shot but when he declaired for the pro circuit he just disappeared.  Guess they feel they can't turn the money down tho.

I disagree, I think he's capable of being a great player. Beasley isnt as good as Gordon, but Beasley played on a sorrier team and was relied on more. Gordon's team was better, thus resulting in lower stats. People also forget that Gordon's teammate, DJ White, was a talented player as well.

Oh, the only freshman with a higher scoring average then Gordon was Beasley....

Personally I feel good about it.  The new coach will be able to build a "team" that has a basic responsibility of getting their education and representing the university in the best way.  Instead of a bunch of "crybabies" who are only thinking of "me", "me", "me".  These guys are only going for one reason.  To become a showcase and try to go pro as soon as possible.  If a kid accepts a full ride scholorship he should be required to fullfill it.  If he only plans on going one or two years let him pay his own way.
