the best one hit wonders with the biggest following.

+1 on the Dead, but I dont think they would qualify.
Truckin?

How about Radar Love, by Golden Earing.

Golden Earing had a comeback hit titled "Candy's Gone Bad"

Wasn't the actual title "When the Bullet Hits the Bone" when it came out? The Who never changed Baba O'Riley to Teenage Wasteland even though every burnout on the planet called it that. Duuuuu-uuude!

Wasn't Romeo Void the band who did "Might like you better if we slept together"?

Yep they sure were. The song was titled Never Say Never. Kick ass song I had forgotten all about till I saw the video on VH1 Classic a little while back.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned 'Ice ice baby' yet. There's a true one hit wonder.

That was one overplayed on Chicago's infamous WXRT "Fine Rock Station". Wonder if the program director was thinking "catholic school girls in trouble" from kentucky fried movie whenever he decided to spin it?

That's because the word "favorite" is in the title of the post! Last year I did "the worst song ever recorded" and it came up often enough.

In case it hasn't been mentioned, "New Orleans Ladies, by Louisanna LaRue".  May not be my favorite, but it is a good one.

I didn't realize it was avail on DVD, I'll have to get one. Had to wait 2 years once for Hollywood Knights on DVD I ordered once. Lent it to someone who wanted to see Fran Drescher topless and never got it back!

That was "Los Bravos". Los Lobos did the remake of La Bamba along with many other tunes. I had lunch with them a couple years back and saw them perform along with The Bodeans, we were a partial sponsor for the show.

Survivor is quite far from having only one hit. The leader of the band, Jim Peterik, was also in the Ides Of March posted earlier on this thread who also had more than one hit.
