Default Jiffy Stand ?

Hello,

This is my first post and I've learned so much I thought I would throw out my dilema....

I have an 05' FLHT and it seems to lean over farther than "average" when placed on the kickstand. I've asked my dealer for ideas why and they suggested the kickstand could be bent. I've removed this and it seems straight as can be. When side by side to another FLHT, it leans over aboutmuch farther than the others and is MUCH harder to stand upright. Anyideas on what to check? The only way I can lift the bike is to crank the handle bars and pull like heck. I've checked the spring, locknut and all seems normal. The dealer's quick fix was to "heat it up and bend it." Any other ideas??

Thanks in advance!!

you could bend it or maybe it's already bent and that's why it's letting the bike sit lower. buy a new one and see if it is any better. maybe someone on here has one sitting around and would sell it cheap for you.

I priced a new stand at the dealer and they want over $100. I'm watching some on ebay. Any other ideas on what I could check?

you can post a add in the classified section under want to buy section, maybe some one has one laying around. but you are supposed to have 30 posts before your allowed to post in there. did your dealer check to see if where it mounts is not bent or something, also maybe it is not the proper jiffy stand for your ride, not sure if they are different from bike to bike. check out some aftermarket sites like jp cycles. they have a lot of them there and it looks like they come in different lengths. it sounds like the one on your bike is shorter than stock which is used on a bikethat islowered.

Wrong jiffy stand for your model, match it up to one at the dealers
