Default Super Trapp 2:2 Fat shots

OK guys need some major advice. I love the way the Super Trapp fat shots look on the 2008 Night Rod Special VRSCDX. I spoke with the dealer that I just purchased the motorcycle from and they told me with the slip on's I need to get a dyno jet system for my fuel injection and a super air filter, the mapping the dyno jet. The whole thing will cost me $2 grand. Other people have told me the dealer is full of Sh$$$t and just trying to make some money off me and the slip on's with the disk adjustment that Super Trapp offers would not require a dyno and a re-mapping. Please help I love the color of the pipes on the bike but can't afford another $2 grand after just dropping $17 grand for the bike. I was thinking about getting the stock pipes with a black ceramic coating that would only cost $300. Has anyone seen how the stock pipes on the 2008 Night Rod Special look with a ceramic flat black color. [sm=outcold.gif][sm=outcold.gif]

sfarson is running the SuperTrapp exhaust, he'd be one of the best to respond, but I think that with the system you can adjust the exhaust to match the bike without a fuel modulator (system)

I would still get the air cleaner though, you'll gain more from it than from the exhaust and it's only about $60-$70.

What the dealer is trying to do is give the extra 5 hp that the super trapps give with a K&N Filter. In this case the dyno is required. If all you are going to do is use the black slip ons, they are sharp, you should be able to adjust the number of baffles to match the stock slip ons. If you upgrade the air filter you will run too lean.

honestly, the air filter is $60, and to have the computer reprogrammed is $150 plus .25 hours of labor. So, factoring in the cost of the pipes (guessing here, $400?) you should have no more than $700 for everything and your bike will run well.

Super trapps are great looking, either in black or in brushed chrome.
