water spots on paint
 

I got some small water spots on my black paint and waxed over top of it thinking it would help... nope. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, where the tank meets the seat, the paint is a little dull.... I think from where my pant legs were rubbing on paint... any ideas here as well.

I was looking for polish on a supplier's website and found this about water spots:

"A water spot is a mineral deposit that is left behind on the surface of the paint after the water has evaporated. A spot sits on top of the surface of the paint.
A water stain is an actual stain that has penetrated into the paint. Keep in mind that some water stains could be so severe that they actually need to be wet sanded for removal.
Whatever item you need to tackle, always start with the least aggressive method.
To remove water spots on paint, first use Perfect Putty which can remove mineral deposit residue."

In the past I've used clay very gently with a product called showroom shine, which is very slick and is used to touch up a vehicle without doing a full wash.

I've got the same rub spots on the tank, BTW, I'll be interested in what advice you get for those.

Like everyone else I am always looking for that showroom shine. Tried many waxes . Last week I purchased 2 Mothers products. 6 bucks each. Step 1 is a pre wax cleaner , Step 2 is a sealant and glaze. I had wax at home so I just used that. I am impressed with the finish as were others. Dont know about the rub spots but will work on the water spots

+1 on the Mothers 3 Step Process.

I wash my bikes with a premium car wash soap and then rinse and then rinse again with the Mr. Clean device to deionize the water, then it will not leave spots. I blow them dry with my leaf blower and then wax.

The Mother's process is time consuming but your paint will look like wet glass when you are finished.

I have been using mothers products for years and years. I use it on all my vehicles and my bike. You can keep all the expensive products.....Not worth it. Mothers has proven itself again and again.

I like the 3 step and the carnuba cleaner wax. The mag polish rocks too.

A member here (profinish) sells some material that might be useful. Or you could use a small section of clear, static-cling sign material (available at many sign shops).
