Waiting patiently to see what Steve is bringing to the table with the new tuner. I keep checking the website but don't see anything mentioned about it yet.   Anybody got some scoop?
How is progress progressing steve?

Steve is almost there...a little more testing and she's ready to go. I can tell you it is AWESOME.....it has all the features of the old tuner plus more programing to make the tuning process much faster and less labor intense.  Be patient Steve wants to be sure there are no bugs in the software to give anyone any trouble while tuning.....is he wants it to be perfect before you get it. The Dongle is already made and ready to be released. I'm as excited as all of you and I respect the fact Steve wants all the bugs out before we get it.

Thanks Steve and TTS

Doc , is the unit that Steve is working on able to be installed by the end user or do we still have to take it and have it put on a dyno by someone. i have read a little about steve and what he is doing. i was thinking any device you use should be put on a dyno for the best tune, since i really dont know of a good tuner in my area as of yet, i was hoping this would be the answer to my prayers

Guys

I just want to say thanks for all being excited but this is a product from a whole team of people at TTS Inc. We want it to be right prior to the public release. Beta test units will be shipped out later next week to some testers and we will see what they come up with. We've tested on just about every brand PC out there but you know there is alway some combination that comes along and bites you in the ass, so were just trying to cover as much as we can upfront. The first release will be upgrades for mainly O2 equipped bikes and a few tuning upgrades for all bikes. Later releases will include more upgrades for older non O2 bikes. All software upgrades for the product will be placed on the web site so any of you with units will be getting the upgrades as they come out for free. All the product will be for an end user to work with but a dyno does make it easier.

Alright!! My wife and I both have '07 HD models, each with a SERT that I installed, and tuned. Just waiting to upgrade them both. Please put me on the list, and let me know what I need to do for the upgrades when they become available. Thanks!!!

Not Steve but yes it will be Vista compatible, you will have a choice of usb cable kit or 9 pin serial port cable kit.  Steve and his work partners gave this new unit great thought for the end user.

I'd have to say if it where mine, I'd be thanking Harley for putting the $560.00 tag on their SuperTuner. But I have no idea what TTS has planned for it......lets hope it's reasonable and not priced like the SuperTuner with the fancy red button.

TTS - Data Master Tuning System web site is http://www.mastertune.net/.  There's nothing on their new H-D tuner yet, but hopefully will be soon.

Good to know the tuner will be Vista compatable.  Don't know that TTS will hold to it, but read back in Jan. or Feb. on this thread that TTS was looking at a price of around $300.  I understand they've made a number of improvements to the tuner they used to supply H-D so I'm really anxious to try it out.

300$ would seem like a fair price to me, I would definately use the product at that price, have always been able to pick up SERT's for 300$ on ebay or dealer overstock. Now, if they would just get this thing out on the market already!!!!

There is no pricing released at this time so I cannot event answer that. Beta test product has been shipped to our testers and we will be working with them over the next few weeks would be my guess. So far things are looking good but need to wait and see what the testers have to say first.

Yeah but with no "Harley" tax.  300.00 sounds fair to me.  You still need to pay someone to tune it for you - it isn't going to be a magic box.

Hey Steve, how long you gonna keep that cat in the bag, dont wait so long that he suffocates, how about some tidbits as to the changes from the old SERT format. Also, how will this new product be marketed, will we be able to buy direct?, or being a dyno owner will I be able to get a dealership for your product?

The product is out and so far only reports are misspelled words and asking to make some of the comments a little more clear. It looks like we should be in pretty good shape unless someone finds something major in the next week. As far as pricing and such I do not have that information but it will be sold direct and through distributors. The office is now accepting business to apply to become a dealer so you can e-mail them at sales@ttspowersystems.com about getting an application form.

Great news Steve, cant wait to get my hands on one, have the perfect bike in mind for it already, did a camset and it has a dfo, tuning with a dfo is like trying to get to a bolt with a wrench that just wont fit no matter how you turn it. As for the misspelled words, are you talking about the software, or the wording in the reports from the testers, lol

It's me! I get going to fast and just figure everyone knows what I mean so it's going to be some clean up and a good spell checker to the rescue. If that's all we have to deal with I happy.

Steve,
One question I have is - will the new software product at a minimum give a read only view of the hidden tables associated with the different calibration files so that one can get a view of the entire set of data that is stored in the file?

The product has more information for the end user to edit and change but there is no way that we can show everything that is in the ECM. For the most part it is things that most would not understand let alone know how to use them. Different levels of software will have different features as some support more things than others. A Typical calibration will have the following items that can be edited

Air-Fuel Ratio
VE Front Cylinder
VE Rear Cylinder
PE Air-Fuel Ratio
Warmup Enrichment
Cranking Fuel
O2 bias
Accel Enrichment
Decel Enleanment
Spark Advance Front Cylinder
Spark Advance Rear Cylinder
PE Spark
Spark Temperature Correction
Closed Throttle Spark
Knock Retard Spark
Idle RPM
IAC Warmup Steps
IAC Crank Steps
Engine Displacement
Injectors Size Knock Control
EITMS Control
RPM Limit
Fan control (V-rod)

and more but this should give you all an idea of whats coming in Mastertune alone! Then you get DataMaster and V-tune software packages as well.

Duty cycle is what you are looking for and is a function or RPM and commanded pulse width.  It is apparently a big secret in the Harley world.

[PulseWidth] * [RPM] / 1200  so a pulse width of 20ms at 6000 RPM would be 20 * 6000 / 1200 = 100% Duty Cycle

10ms pulse width would give 50% DC

When I look at a data log for a touring model I can see an injector shut off in the column of pulse width.  Something must tell this when to shut off and for how long as it varies from map to map.  A good example is between calibrations 67 (never shuts off) and 78 (shuts off).  This occurs when the throttle is let off and the map load is below 15 kPa.  I don't know what you call it I can only say what I observe.   So if you were to cut and paste 78 values into 67 so they look exactly alike the new map with 67 as the base would not shut it down.  Therefore there must be something behind the scenes that tells the injectors to shut down.  I am just curious as to what the differences are between the two that I cannot see and hoped that the new software would display more of the tables.

Injector size knock control? explain if you could in simple terms.
Looks like  quite a few new features, the power enrichment afr control and the spark temperature correction, which I understand as a change is spark timing with high temps have me very interested. So, when can I have one, I havent felt like this since I was 10 years old and waitng for a new bow and arrows for christmas, please don't make me wait till christmas, lol

As we have discussed in the past - a direct copy of all the surface tables from 78 to 67 including decel enleanment produces a different result in regards to injector pulse width going to zero.  67 never goes there even with all of 78's data.

Is anything going to be added to better control the throbbing of the PW at steady state cruise?

Injector size Knock control

Should have been

Injector size
Knock control

TickTock

Decel Enleanment is what it turning off the injectors under 15 kPa as Doc said. The difference is the setup calibration for when you go into Decel Enleanment not the amount of Decel Enleanment which is what your adjusting currently. At this time we have not added the setup functions for Decel Enleanment but it is something that can be looked into in the future.

Tick, attached is a screen shot of Data Mode from my Dyna running cal 67, 176AE104-A1. The injectors do shut off at low MAP. In this particular instance, they stayed off from 4153 rpm down to 2755 rpm where I opened the throttle to 1.4%.
