Default Banana Calipers

I recently picked up an 83 FX. At some point the front end was changed to what I believe is an FLH model. I want to get rid of the front caliper. I've seen a few posts on here about using GMA part number 90-1 from Jireh. These calipers need a 5/8 bore master cylinder. Any trick to determining what size bore you currently have?

I have this GMA caliper on my'84FLH andam happy with it. It's a good working unit.

Short of disassembling the master cylinder and actuallymeasuring the bore I don't know howyou'de tell. It may have been changed already, likeyour front end, so it'de just be a guess, although being the bike now has a single caliper there's a good chance it is 5/8" rather than the larger bores usedon the dual calipers.

Good Luck,

Jeff

Stock HD master cylinders in those years was 3/4 bore You can run a 3/4 bore on that 5/8 caliper The braking wouldn't be as effective
