Finally got to do a little work with the new RRA this weekend.  Didn't have a lot of luck with the 45 grain bullets I tried, but the 55's and 69's would shoot under an inch for 5 shots with 4 going under 3/8 with one little flyer in each group.

A little work at the loading bench and some pratice on my part, and this this is going to be great.

Im just currious - what bullets are you using? what is the twist rate?
What distance are you shooting?  3/8" @ 100 is pretty good

With the best groups I was shooting a 69 grn Sierra HPBT in front of 25.5 grns. of H335.  The group with this load was .656" for 5 shots at 100 yards.  I had four shots that measured .352" with the one flyer that opened it up to the .656.

With a 55 grn. Nosler Ballistic Tip in front of 26.0 grns of H335 I had a group that went .904". and with the same bullet and 23 grns of H335 I had a 5 shot group that was just under an inch with four of the shots going .325".

With the 45 grn Hornady .22 Hornet bullet the best I could do was 4 shots right an 1 " with a flyer that opened it up to 1 1/4".  I don't know if the twist rate is getting me with this light of a bullet or if it's just that the Hornet bullets don'tshoot well in this gun.  I am going to try some 40 grn V-max or 40 grn Sierras and see what happens.

The bbl is a 20" NM Wilson stainless steel air gauge with a 1 in 8 twist.  Trigger is RRA's NM.

Yeah the 1:8 twist is a little fast for 40gr bullets,  its pushing it a bit, but who knows they may work for you.

Ive been using H335 for a general purpose round with (pulled) 62grn M855 bullets with 25gr H335.  I havent really tested to much for accuracy - I was going for battle field accuracy.

For the varmints I was using a 26.8gr varget with the 60gr Vmax.  It was a 1-9 twist barrel  with 3 shot groups around .375 - that barrel also liked 68gr Hornady HPBT bullets, which group all day at .750  -  I was just getting into more trials with the 60gr Vmax when I sold the upper.

I just picked up a 18" (SPR) white oaks armament match barrel with the wylde chamber.  It has 1:7 twist but I havet started loading for it yet, but Ill probably have to stick to the longer heaver bullets.  I would probably prefer a 1:8 twist to shoot the 55gr bullets better.  Im not sure how low I will be able to go.

We are a RRA dealer and have received nothing but good feedback from our customers.  The only real complaints we get is the 12 week wait for production.  I shot the Fed 55gr Bobtail and usually scored pretty well in the combat action matches I shot in.  Others who have done sniper matches with them have been pretty happy as well (AR was used as support rifle to bolt action sniper).

I've built many lower recivers Fulton,DPMS,Armscorp. By far RR is the best in fit and finish There parts kits are far superior to that of DPMS. I would rate RR as one of the top AR type rifles out there today.

Have never lived in either, and I wouldn't even travel through Ill. unless it was a dire necessity.
