I am selling my '61 panhead for $14,000.  Your post says '47 to '58, so I am somewhat unsure if your friend means just a hardtail.  The hardtail ended in '57, with the Duo Glide ( rear suspension) comming out in '58.  Personnaly having had both, I like the looks of a hardtail but, like the ride of a Duo Glide.  Good Luck.

I have a 1950 Panhead titled as an FL. I'm listing it for 9,000 or best offer. It is a rigid frame.
