Default 2004 FLSTF Fatboy Carb Low Miles Stock Motor Gear throwing in

Asheville, NC area local pickup (and watch me cry as you drive away with it)

Posting here 1st because you folks know me. I have to sell my baby.. You folks that know me know how much I love the bike, but also how much I DON'T get to ride it. She's been a fabulous no-problem confident ride. I've kept the engine, drivetrain, ignition, etc completely stock except for exhaust and proper jetting for such.

.. I will try to get some good pics.. My gallery here does have a few, but I'll try to get much much better as the bike is right now. With or without bags, windsheild, rear seat, etc. Can look in any combination of ways.

Make / Model:
2004 (purchased Nov '03) FLSTF Fatboy (carburated)
Vivid Black original
Stock TC88, stock 5-speed.
I forget the oem tire size but BEFORE the fatboys recently went to the fat fat tires.

Mileage and functional condition:
Just bumped over 8,000 miles !!!!!
According to KBB I should be at something like 20k.. yeah I wish I could ride that much.
The bike runs as expected.. Exactly as when I broke her in (properly and prudently).
Never one ounce of trouble.. Always reliable, always a good starter.
Never sat for too long a period unridden except for those couple coldest months in the winters. Original battery still going strong.
I'm the type that coasts and eases way ahead of time to stops.. So brake pads are even still full of life.
I'm also a less than 10 yrs riding, and a Dad, so ridden the bike responsibly of course.

Services:
I've enjoyed doing the fluid changes myself.. as so much encouraged in the forum here.
I had the 1st few changes done at dealer, then decided to do them myself.
I'm using Mobil 1 V-Twin (engine), Redline Shockproof Heavy (transmission.. and I'm beginning to believe that's overkill), standard Formula+ Harley fluid (Primary).
Kept cables lubed as well with Bike-Aid (syringe type cable lube).. works nice.. lubed cables are happy cables.
Services done at 2500 increments or seasonal, whichever first.. I like nice oil for riding season, even if it's to the store, sadly.

Prior to sale, I'd be willing to volunteer the bike to get a proper 10k at the dealer for the buyer..
brake fluids, fork oil, fallaway check, neck-bearing grease, etc.. whatever's spelled out in the svc manual for 10k.

Additions:

OEM Shocks with Wild-1 adjustable lowering kit..
Lowered the rear about an inch or so and works great.. I think it actually improved the cornering.. Haven't scraped since installed, strangely enough.

Mustang Wide Vintage Solo Seat with matching Wide Rear Seat.. SILLY comfortable for long long miles.. maybe 2 yrs old I think.. 3000 miles or so. Excellent condition
Currently running solo with Mustang fender bib which looks cool.

Ironbags Saddlebags
You've probably seen my boasting and being a big fanboy of Ironbags. These are Iron Max style bags with 3-conchos w/ tassles, optional cargo straps (love-em). I'll try to find the link to the two or so threads I have in here about them. These bags are my pride and joy addition.. Best quality bags I've ever seen or owned.. 12-14 oz leather. Installed two Christmas's ago I think.. Practically new and look as such.. Nothing other than my hands has ever brushed up against them and have the cleaning and care supplies from Max at Ironbags (included of course). Size.. as you can see from my signature.. They're Huuuuuuge! But shaped beautifully to work with the lines of the bike.. I absolutely love them.. For touring, you could easily load a whole mess of gear in them.. And they're made to HAUL BRICKS.. No 15lb limits on these bags.. as per Max himself. They are NOT quick-detach, but that's part of their carrying capability.. Unfortunately, the

New bike w/ tax in NC would run $17,716 plus 3% plus whatever nice little fees the dealer wants to tack on to have to negotiate off. So I'm $3G's off then from a naked bike before you add $1000 bags, windsheild, detach sissybar setup, $700 rinehart exhaust, jetting and tuning, an actual ride-able seat, any chips or downloads on the new FI only bikes, etc... And lift, two full-faces and anything I didn't mention that pertains to the bike thrown in... After all the fees and charge here and there.. Think more probably $22k.. $21k at best..

But ok, for bare bones bike as a new one would be delivered.. or whatever parts ala cart someone would want or not want, I will work with a serious buyer to get to a good solid fair price.

Cash in hand and a trailer to pick it up or ride off either way, will get someone a great bike at a great price we can establish.

Yeah.. I really wanna sell it.

Nice bike. The market is the toilet. $3,000 less than a new one is not likely to sell. Unless you can find someone who hasn't been paying attention. The new bike has the fat tire, 6 speed tranny, fancy wheels and the big motor. That's a lot for only $3000 more. Bolt on trinkets add nothing to the value, you're better off to pull them and put the stock back on. The current market IF you MUST sell is at best half way between trade in and retail on KBB (about $12,000). This is about the worst time ever to have to sell a bike, but I don't see any relief for a while, and the market could drop more.

Agreed.. It's a crap market... I'd easily sell just the bike, give or take whatever the buyer would want and get a price the buyer can feel good about. Not afraid of parting out and ebaying the rest I guess if someone didn't want all the "stuff".

Spring is here and it's time to ride though... I've certainly enjoyed having to ride to work with only one car now. Just dropped all the fluids and I can tell you.. this bike is clean and solid and good for years of making Vtwin music.

Actually I think enough talk about my original price sucking.. hehehe (I am a reasonable man I can see that). If someone drives up with cash for the bare bike with $12,500 rideable with the mustang seat, rineharts and relocated lights on laydown tag and the cruise arms. It's theirs. I'll part out the rest.

That's sounds like a real good deal. I'd sure like to pick up a newer ride while the prices are low. But soon as I get some funds saved, more stuff hits the fan.

Good luck! Meanwhile put some miles on it until it does sell. Your miles are so low it won't matter if it has a few more.

Hey man. Yes it is.. Sad indeed. Glad to see you're scoot.. Infact, it's nice.. shows how versatile these fatties can be.. drag bars or apes, bagger or custom, fishtails or drags or 2into1's... Can do about anything your imagination wants to with this bike... I have to say I know I wanted your gray tins, but I think your scoot is much better in black now.

Harley_Dude.. That is an exceptional deal I think.. but I'm biased.. I know the condition of the bike.. Like the nice couple that bought our van, I can say the same to whoever grabs my scoot.. "You'd be getting a dadgum great running dependable bike".... Park it over your best white linens if you like.. No pokey dots from this bike. I've been **** freak on service also... I learned to do the changes myself because I didn't even trust the dealer techs... When they can't even lube the cables, you have to wonder if they adjusted the chain into spec or the clutch, etc.

Come get it!!
