Tracy, There is a new post regarding yours and Ride Str8. Their Engineer speaks of certain issues, to include jam nuts, material type (alum vs steel) etc. Could you counter these statements? Mostly, I'm interested in the thought behind aluminum vs steel. I know that steel has a higher ksi but I also know that a thick piece of aluminum can be stronger than a thin piece of steel. Did you increase your plate thickness over that of the steel? What is the aluminun you use (6061-T6 typically is 30-35ksi but can be up to 45ksi).

Hi, my frame bracket is CNC machined to clear all the welds on the down tubes from one piece of 6061 t6 aluminum and rating is clearly displayed below and underlined. My bracket is made thicker in all areas for strength, and it has no threaded inserts mounting it or the link itself. lt uses a grade 8 through bolt to mount the rod end to the frame bracket itself. As for the oil pan bracket it's made of 6061 t6 aluminum and uses a countersink bolt that is stronger than grade 8, for more surface area and strength; also the bracket can be as close to the oil pan as possible, and my kit uses 2 chrome moly washers between the rod ends and their mounts to allow more travel of the rod ends if needed, and so that the rod ends will not dig into the aluminum. My frame bracket is made of aluminum in order to cushion any vibrations that could occur between the transmission and frame. My bracket is much stronger than the forces that can be applied to it from the bike. The 6061 series of aluminum is alloyed with magnesium & silicon. However, these are only the majority of alloying elements as other elements are included such as copper, zinc, maganese and titanium. A total of 4% of alloying elements comprise the 6061 specification. The 6061 series is divided into grades or designations that refer to the post temper process. The most common grades are T0, T4, and T6. The grades, processes and strengths are depicted below: Temper - T6 Process- Solution heat treated and artificially aged Tensile(PSI) - 45,000 Yield(PSI) - 40,000 T0 fully annealed aluminum 18,000 8,000 T4 Solution heat treated and naturally aged 35,000 21,000 T6 Solution heat treated and artificially aged 45,000 40,000

So the guy from Ride-str8 say's he has a better product at a higher price? hmm, why would he say that? Oh yeah, salesman. Ok, I finaly took the Road King out to test out my TWR link. No additional vibrations, still shakes like a nervious Chihuahua at idle. I have never felt the wobble on my bike, so I wasn't sure if this was going to do anything for me at all. Rode my typical route (I'm not really a board scrapper in turns) ok not sure if I notice anything different. Hit the highway on the way home to see if there was any differance. Now keep in mind I have never felt this rear steer effect the tourers claim. The bike never felt this good at high speed (70+) before. Very stable, hard to explain but the bike would "move around" before at higher speeds, I just attributed it to the air moving, hitting the bags, windshield, etc. It actually went strait this time out. I still have to test it on some highways that have worse road conditions to see how much movement I get on them, but my confidence level has risen quite a bit today. To those of you that say your "not convinced", you never will be unless you try it for yourself. So far it has made a believer out of me.

WOW ! This is disturbing 2 posts going about TWR / Ride Str8... Dan grow up and take competition for what it is!! Complaining it is a copy or inferior when all the facts and quality are stated make you look mighty SAD!! People will chose based on there own findings and needs, not a scared manufacturer bad mouthing another. If I were looking I would purchase TWR for that sad display all on it's own....... Bonues it is BETTER!! roid

Question: I have a 2008 Road Glide. Will this thing make a substantial difference if I was to buy one? Harley says this model is supposed to have so many new rubber grommets for anti-vibration, unlike earlier models did not.
