Default i had to find out, somehow...

ok, so i knew that triking my ride would affect my mileage and i knew my odometer wouldn't read correctly, due to the big ass tires, so i wasn't sure how far i could go on one full tank. well.....i found out. when i ran out of gas, this weekend, my odometer rear 144.5 miles. not that big of a deal, but engine died on loop 410, a huge clusterf#ck that loops around san antonio. luckily, i was about 1/4 mile away from an exit. after throwing a fit on the side of the highway, i calmed down long enough to hit the button and the fuel pump sucked enough gas to get me that far and i literally coasted into the gas station! oh, well. at least i know, now. that was all city miles, so as long as i stay around that on the highway, i should be fine. that extra weight out back makes a big difference!

Grimm, I would hate to go through that on a busy highway. I would have sat there and pouted and called for some help. At least you had enough sense to turn the bike back on and save yourself. My low fuel light came on and 150 miles. I stopped at 162 and put in 4.5 gallons. With the kit installed, I am now at 36 miles per gallon instead of 43. Lot better than my Z71 at 15.

Those tires look sooo good on your bike.

Over the last three tanks, I'm averaging 36 miles per gallon. The only other time I calculated gas mileage was before the trike conversion, when I was riding solo. I'm riding two-up on the trike, so I really can't tell how much I've lost on the trike conversion.
