I work with a guy that has a 97 883 sportster that he is wanting to put a sidecar on, he asked  if I knew anything about it I dont but maybe you guys can help with were to start looking Thanks

I'd start looking right here. I've come across a couple of Sporty's with a Hack.

Champion Sidecar also makes a Sporty compatible side car.  It is where we started, but finally wound up with her trike conversion for an Electra Glide.

+1 on Motorvation sidecar.  I run their Spyder on my Road King.  You don't need a big Harley to carry a Motorvation.  Anything more than 500 cc can handle a Spyder - weighs less than some passengers - but it is rock solid.
