Santoy...nice wheels,they are the black version of mine. Did you put them on the bike or where they on the bike when you bought it? You just need to get the rotors and pulley to match.

Well since we're starting all over again. Here are my new tins, will be going on my 07 FXSTB. The pics are in the paint booth, the painter took them and sent to me. Will get most things complete when I get back home in a few months.

Well I sucked it up and slapped on the old rotors [sm=sigh.gif] Rear wheel from Heartland way to spendy found a guy for the front Rich @ detoitwheelz@aol.com. Spoke brake rotors will me here Monday or the following Friday

unfortunatley by just locking the other NT thread without warning, he and the others that have alot of knowledge have left to another forum.....
That is a big loss for HDF in my opinion.....

I think I will wash my bike and take pics either today or tomorrow. It's pretty filthy right now. Bugs all over it. It's just so much more fun to ride than clean, you know?

Thanks man, I appreciate the compliment! The wheel is stock from an 03 Fatboy that I had machined and powdercoated to match the stock Nightrainrear wheel. Install was a bit of a challenge figuring out the proper spacing. I had to cut about .050 off one of the outer spacers ,and add a .050 washer to the other sideto get the rotor to line up correctly with the caliper.

The ride is definitely different. Itdives into the turnsmuch easier than with the 21". With the 21" you could feel every little pebble in the road, butwith all the extra sidewall of the fat tire it soaks up more of the bumps.

Lundee, the 4 inch aint to much more of a stretch, sacrificed a little comfort for cool looks but I think it looks a lot better.

Awesome looking trains guys! I remember someone had a train with 2 into 2 Big Radius pipes that were half black and half chrome, that was one of my favorite looking bikes.I miss looking at all the bike pics.

yes...it's a screaming eagle stage 1 kit with the willy g a/c insert. I just did away with the football cover and put the insert over the filter.

Granted, the old NT thread did get quite a bit off topic with a lot of random back and forth, there were some pretty cool guys there. I've gotten a ton of info from that thread and most of the people who are supposedly gone from this site now.

Not gonna lie, I think it was pretty lame to just say "hey I'm the moderator and I don't like this thread so I'm closing it". The least you could have done was just move it somewhere else and rename it. Instead it was locked and a good bunch of people went elsewhere.

I just spent the last 30 minutes cleaning up this thread because of a few members that won't let it go. If you want to chat then you need to do it some place else. I did something simalar for my front signals mine are on the lower tree. There 2 1/2" radiantz leds that have a sticky back. I've had them on for almost a year now w/ no problems. I also put on a thin coat of VHT nite shade paint so there black until you use them then they are very bright.

Stock bars, 3" JPCycles risers. Bars will hit tank, I made a small spacer for each side of the triple tree to reduce the max turning radius. Justenough so the bars would not hit.

Only 3 weeks old and I've started my journey down the never ending path of spend... spend.... spend.

I'm going for a Black/Grey/Chrome look. The bike is Black Pearl (I think it looks great in the sun). I've changed out the tail light and did the pegs, brake pad and shifter. The lens covers are now smoked.The grey in the middle of the peg or brake pad is what I'm going after when I say grey. I ordered a complete set of Magnum Black Pearl braided cables which should come close to the peg/brake pad color.

Up next... V&H Big Shot Staggereds, Ness Air Filter and a PC III. I also have the grips coming to match the pegs.I might throw in the flush mount fuel caps as well. I'm approaching 400 miles on the bike (very few nice days over the last few weeks) and I still can't get the smile off of my face..

Looking good! What size is the rear wheel and what were the modifications that had to be done.

the tire is a 240, the mods included a 25mm trans offset kit, and custom swing arm, along with cutting the internal fender struts..the fabricator of the swingarm didn't supply everything that he said he would so it took alot of machine shop time to fab spacers, bushings, swingarm bumper and axle. Altogether if i would have went with a quality kit(hearland, pm, rc components) everything can be done on one saturday minus paint and seat.

Here's mine in it's latest state, 02, Jade Pearl Sunglo, silver marble flames, powder coated duece bars, 1" risers, V&H Shortshots with baffles cut to 2" long, S&S Super E, Thunderstar front wheel etc etc etc...Backrest, saddlebags and Seat coming off very shortly, got a STEAL on a Mustang solo with removable driver backrest..Turn signals getting powdercoated black...

They are Bassani sweepers and I had them ceramic coated at Jet Hot.

I did the same pegs and levers as you did. i really like the black diamond. i have the vance and hines BSS and they sound good at idle and when the throttle is pulled. at mid to low mid rpm tho they sound kind of lame.plus if you look around town, everyone has v&h. next year, i'm looking at bassani or hooker black.

by the way, i have found if you have several beers before you pull out the plastic to spend, spend, spend, it is alot easier! LMAO

It's the one for a Dyna Wide Glide, the bucket that surrounds the headlight itself had to be modified a bit....

deshroud, I dont know what brand they are. Thanks to good friends, when i got the bike, they took the regular drag bars off and replaced them with these. They also took off the pipes that were on there and put on a pair of Porkers that were brand new. I bought the seat off a guy that had an 02 Softail. And I can tell you, for some reason the seat is more uncomfortable that the Badlander that came on it that was wore out!! He only used the seat to get his bike home and replaced it right away. Do these seats have a break in period??? It has never really been used. Just curious, cause if not, I need another seat that the wife will like. Input???? And, as far as leaving it stock, well, who knows. It has a big bore kit in it already. I like the sleeper idea..

You know, normally I let a lot of stuff go, but this has to be the stupidest comment I have read in a long time! I haven't posted on here since Terry shut down the old section. The people I associated with left, or were banned, so since I felt like part of them, I went where they went. There may have been a lot of bs on that thread, but there was some awesome work being shown and a lot of ideas being thrown out therealso. I'm not here to start a pissing match, just to say a lot of intellegent people willing to help others have been lost. It's sad that someone would think 10-15 people showing pics and sharing new ideas is better than 50 (ok, maybe there wasn't 50, but I'm not really sure there are even 10-15 now!)......
I will say ya'll do have some nice bikes!

Remember, noone was booted until they shot their mouths off. This is a pic thread, period. They chose to go their route post about anything and everything they could think of and so be it but it is nice to come to this pic thread and there be more pics than the bs. If you're a new Night Train owner and you want to see pics to get ideas from, then a pic thread is where you go, but if you have to scroll 3-4 pages before you see a pic it's aggravating. Try searching for a pic that you know you saw within a week's timeframe, it may take you 10-15 pages to find it vs. how it used to be, 1-2 pages. A seperate thread was started just for the bs and it didn't catch on, why not, who knows. Point is, we, they, everyone, had a chance to do the right thing and keep it a pic only thread and it wasn't done, the thread was locked, some people lost it and said some things they shouldn't have and then were booted. Some more reasonable people did not shoot their mouth and they're still here, don't post as much but it's still good to have them here as they are knowledgeable and always willing to help. Get over it and post some pics!

Are you copying there idea? I like the air cover that caltrain posted. So is it wrong to find out where it came from and add it to my bike. Thats not a problem but I doubt you could get Mark to make one for you, he likes doing original work for friends and does a great job at it. But you could ask if he would do something original for you, not saying he will but it does not hurt to ask. Just PM him and ask.

I dont see ita as copying someone else. i mean maybe if you copied a custom down to the bolt... I look at what others have done whether factory accessories, aftermarket or modified stock. if i looks good and its what i'm looking for then i may put it on my bike. the thing is, i have my own idea of where i want to go and if i borrow from serveral different bikes, mine isnt acopy of theirs. the guys i have asked about parts they had and where they got them have been great at sharing that info.

To answer your questions...

The air cleaner cover came from Story808, PM him and he'll hook you up. Story's a real cool guy and can even hook you up with something custom along the lines of Cal's but a little different. Might be an idea.

The whole copy thing... If you see a cool part on a bike and you'd like to add it to yours what's the big issue? I ripped my chopper bag from someone, butour bikes arecompletely different.HOWEVER... If you copy a guys bike exactly,I think that's pretty weak.

SRM...It's not a problem man help yourself. I just sent Mark/Story the Dark Customs logo and told him I wanted the words night train on it. He did all the rest and made it original...he is a very talentedand cool guy. Don't judge the old train crew by what you are seeing posted on this forum right now....really great group of enthusiast's and willing share/help others.;)

Srm, mine's a Long Boy front fender off of ebay. I believe it's 4.75" wide. If you end up getting one ask about how to make the spacers. It's pretty easy. Good luck with your bike.

Don't have a train, but really like them and who knows, might get one in the future. Gotta say really dig your guys bikes.
