A friend and I have been restoring this bike, we thought it was an flh, but now we do not know if it is a flh, fx, fxr, or an fxs. Can someone give me any ideas on how to finnaly find out what it is? Thank you

Send your VIN to TCSTD. He will be able to look it up for you and tell you what you have.

You can check for a tab on the frame for the floorboard mount on the right side, an FX won't have it. You can also check for the other floorboard mount on the primary cover, if it is original. If it's the original tranmission, you can look for the speedo drive in the transmission case. The FX would have been front wheel driven. If it's the stock original front end, it should have 41mm fork tubes and the FX would likely have 35mm tubes. It wouldn't be an FXR, they didn't come out until 1982.
