Default Compact 9mm

I am looking for a compact 9mm.Somthing smaller than G 26,but more reliable than kahr.Does anyone have any ideas. My job won't let me carry a .38,even though I am qualified to teach others how to shoot one.

Lots of problems with the slide stop.My dept. actuallystoped using it as a authrized off dutypistol. The slide stop lever keptsnaping in half.I carry a Glock 19 duty gun,and would be more than satisfied with theG 26 if it were a bit smaller.I was looking at the Springfield XD9 , but it is roughly the same size as the 26 & a $100.00 more.

Check out the Kel-Tec PF-9. They are well built like a Glock with steel on steel construction and they are as small asmy wife's 380Colt Mustang. BB

IMHO, a top quality compact 9mm that is often overlooked is the Smith & Wesson 3913. I have owned several, tuned many and shot all of them. I have always found it very accurate, reliable and easy to conceal. I have a friend that competed in combat matches with one. Only after about 50,000 rounds thru it did the frame crack. S&W replaced it with no questions asked. I really like it and my wife carries one for her CCW handgun. I carry one as my 'backup weapon' while on duty. .......... BC

I have a subcompact SpringfieldXD9. great gun. I'm supprised it cost more than the glock. I think I payed $460 for it new including 4 magazines instead of 2.

The PF-9 is a brand new model from Kel-Tec (sales began Jan 2008 I believe) and is not included on the website above. In some ways the Kel-Tec beats the gun listed as the smallest 9mm. Compare specs at http://www.kel-tec-cnc.com/pf9.html BB

take a look at the H&K P2000sk. A little pricey, but you can bet your life on its reliability. BTW the Kahr would be one I'd consider as well
