NO!! Do you? That sounds pretty bad if it's happening. Maybe they should have dipped 'em more than once?! I have 700 miles on mine and no flaking.

A friend of mine does. They flaked from the lower tree to the fender mounts,he has maybe 2500 miles on his bike.It looks like a very thin chrome plating job or the forks weren't prepped right.

I've powder coated a few sets of those and found a trendous amount of loose chrome on all pieces!  It was so bad on one piece I was able to peel off almost all the chrome, and you're right, the chrome was single layer [chrome over aluminum] and there was a thin layer of oil under most of the loose stuff.  I took pictures to give to the customer so he could forward them on to the dealer/factory if he wanted to.  I don't know if he did.

GBeck - There is a radical black chopper in that issue of IronWorks I did all the powder coating on.  It's the one with the flames shown on the cover to the far right.

That's some awesome work on a sick bike, powdercoater!  I'm glad I have the 5 year warranty, so when I start shedding skin I'll atleast have some kind of recourse!  I'll be watching the forks really close.

Mine are not flaking but the very bottom of the forks have some bad looking chrome right where the fork tubes slide into the chrome bottom section. They are getting replaced on warranty.
