My wife's brother recently passed away. We have a box full of his military stuff. Will be putting misc stuff on ebay but if anyone is interested would rather sell to a hdf member. Authentic military items from 1974 to 1994. Also have boyscout items from the early 70's. If anyone is interested please let me know. will provide details and pictures if anyone is interested.
Thanks
Gary

Yea man shoot me a PM with what ya got. I can always add to my on going collection seeing I am still in the Military. Although it would be cool if you put together a shadow box with almost like a memorial with his items in there. JMO

I agree. The medals and such should be kept. If you don't care about your brothers service to our country, perhaps the next generation of your family will appreciate his sacrifice.

Also I challenge other members of this site to not offer you any money to buy these items. If you need money that bad, perhaps we could take up a collection in your brothers memory.

As a former Marine, I gotta tell you, I would hope that my surviving family members would have enough pride in my service to this country to keep my medals.

We completely understand how important his service was and we have made up several shadow boxes as well as a flag box with medals but he had so much that we just cant keep them all. He was a collector of many things and what we really want is some one that will treasure them as much as he did.

I agree keep them and pass them on. I would hope my family would keep my medals. He put alot on the line for those medals.

My question is, are these items that were awarded to him or items that were PURCHASED for a collection?ORIGINAL: garyhendley

You just don't sell medals that have been awarded. Bad JUJU.

What branch of service was he in? If it's Marine Corps then the National Museum will take the items and hold for potential display. If I were you I'd hold on to them\\; not for potential resale but to give when the right opportunity exists. Recommend you list what he left and we can advise further.
