Default FXDSE2 Owners, Handlebar help needed

Here's the scoop...I've got an 08 and the stock handlebars are killing me. I get a pain in between my shoulders that is mind boggling'ly painful. It feels like some hit me in the traps with a fire ax. Coming back to Philly from a run on Long Island on Saturday, I was not a happy camper.

I replaced the stock seat with a custom one from Danny Grey. Thinking that since I sit a little lowerthat's exsasperated the issue.

Anyone have thoughts on a handlebar replacement? Or maybe I should a get of risers that would raise the bar a bit and raked them back a little?Yes, I know none of this is cheap, but damn, over 100 miles and I'm hating the Dyna.

Unless you have very long arms, the last thing you would want to do on a FXDSE is to sit further away from the handle bars. They are a long stretch from the factory. I own one and love it, but getting it to fit you properly did take some time and a few parts (heel rests specifically). As the handlebars are a unique style without risers, it becomes difficult to consider longer risers as a solution. Finding a seat that moves you closer to the handlebars is definately worth consideration, but the trouble and expense of experimenting with many different seats can be a pain too.

Um, the 08 (FXDSE2) has risers. Different set of bars from the 07's.

The one thing I think of that may be causing this is a straight arm extension over long periods causing the pain. Is your riding position relaxed or do you find your shoulders drawn in and/or up while you're riding? To help alleviate the pain you may try a raked riser which will bring the controls closer to you and maybe a wider bar. Of course the problem then becomes the internal wiring and the extended cabling! Thankfully my position is perfect with a Le Pera Barebones allowing my arms to be nearly parallel to the ground. Changing everything from the triple trees up will cost some major bucks! Another option would be the Barebones Upfront which stills gives you the low and slammed look but a bit more padding in the back to bring you forward just a bit which may relieve your back pain. I am 5'10" and I ride the Barebones (normal) which is still pretty comfortable, but I sit in a cockpit for a living giving me a well conditioned long distance ****.

Here's my Dyna with the Barebones. Don't hate the Dyna. Hopefully reducing your stretch will change your mind! We all spent too much for this bike, so we gotta make the best of it!

I hate the handlebars, too...I'm 5'-9" and it was a real stetch with the stock seat...got one with a rider backrest and I adjust it all the way forward and it helps a lot

edit: I also put the passenger footpegs on the mid mounts and this helps me feel less stretched out

Thanks for the ideas, guys. I'm six foot and the forward controls fit my legs perfectly. But I'ma littlestretched and slightly down, arm-wise.Hence the thought of a set of pull back bars or risers to bring the beach bars (stock) up and back a little.

Otherwise, with the new seat, the bike fits like a glove.
