Camara RAW Pics?

For all you ps guru's, when posting a pic to be chopped, is there any benefit using a RAW pic? I don't know if a raw format can be manipulated by a second party. Any thoughts?

Raw is the best for editing, it'd be more work to get it attached to your post though.
