Im looking to buy a vrod shortly to add to my toys.Have 88 springer full customized 127 ci evo with nos for bar hopper. And 06 roadking custom for long trips.Figure I need a vrod for cutting up the country roads.
Any ideas on which models handle the best and whats the fastest factory bikes and best hop ups for more power and does anyone offer realy big motors for these. Was thinking about buying used older one and swapping to bigger motor.
Any suggestions and any thing specail to look for and avoid.

1.Test ride all you find find, then get a D or an R.
2.Visit www.1130cc.com for all things V-rod. Check out American Iron magazine.
3. Do 1 and 2 in any order you wish.
4. Enjoy the life of a Vrodaholic.

Cutting up country roads isnt commonly done by the newer 08 models except the D, if you can find yourself a D do so because rumor has it, they wont be there for 2009 and they are hard to find as it is,

or even better an 07 or even 06 leftover VRSCR Street rod, there are tons of these leftover becuase people dont want them for some reason, they are taller than all the other vrods, have inverted front forks, and a lower lean angle than all the other V's or any other bike in harleys lineup right now. All the vrods are also very stable

Theres also a monstorously powerful 1250 motor in all the new vrods and the 07 VRSCX and all the CVO years, you'll become a member of the stupid grin club in no time, the 1130's are very powerful also. the revolution motor is bulletproof if you still want more power there are a few different turbo kits and NOS setups for the vrods

for corner carving the D and R have it set with their smaller rear tires and mid controls but will be hard to find especially if your looking for new only.

but if you want to upgrade your bar hopper buy a night rod special

The 1250 with all the pollution gear on them are not much more powerful than the 1130's at the rear wheel about 1 hp and of the 2 08's I have had on the Dyno they have less torque.
